Question for Mike Phillips RE:NXT

I asked our International accouns manager, as well as a marketing guy and they told me approximately in the March-May time frame.

In December, my wife will be placing some autographed bottles of NXT Tech Wax on ebay. The money will go to a charity.

Also, starting in January and going through March, Meguiar's will be hosting some NXT Generation Garage Party's, in which 15-25 cars/attendees will be invited to check out the new NXT line.

Each car/attendee will recive a 10 item gift collection that will include the complete NXT line.

I know if your'e overseas you can't really attend the event, but you could bid on a bottle on eBay as early as the first week of December.

Hey... look at this... one of the chemists just brought me 4 fresh from the lab upstairs bottles of NXT produdts.

I have two bottles of NXT Spray Wax, and two bottles of NXT Car Wash. (In temporary bottles, I'll pour them off myself into the correct bottles)

Thanks Mike

I guess when you say we can bid from September I think maybe you mean December, otherwise we've already missed it!!

How about a UK garage party with 15 attendees, should just about cover all the UK Autopians which means we all get the freebies, might as well just post them straight out to us!!!!!

I don't know what to say... I think... I don't think... I think.... I don't think....

I'm stuck on this one.

Hey Mike. First of all, thank you for bringing your knowledge. I was wondering if you or anyone at Megs does any of the clinics on the east coast NY more specifically. If so, how do I get involved? Also, how can we get invited to the NXT Parties? Needless to say I am excited to try this product!!!!

Thanks

D

Regarding the December Ebay offer.....since I live where it could be 10 degrees below zero in December, can the NXT freeze in

shipping without severe degradation?

thanks

Mike, is there anything in Pennsylvania? I know Meg's has a strong presence in Carlisle/York/Manheim/Harrisburg. If so, how does one go about wangling an invite? The collection would be nice, but it can be bought; I'm more interested in the learning that might be had there.

I think there are several good reasons for sending samples or allowing us Brits access to this new product.

1. It does not get very cold here in winter, therefore we are a good test location.

2. It is damp here in winter, therefore we are a good test location.

3. The cultural differences could help in the marketing and product development.

4. We have very different cars which are comprised of different paint structures and applied in different ways.

5. It cost us over $8 million to throw a few parties for your President.

6. We (Brits) have a untapped detailing market and is therefore important to the future profits of Meguiars.

7. Is it too crass to mention the 'special relationship' between the USA and the UK.

8. Your company would be doing its bit for international relations

9. The entire British population would be grateful

10. We would forgive the film Saving Private Ryan for failing to mention the British and other allied troops during the D-day landings

Thanks for the info Mike. Make sure the folks on the other side of the pond (the Atlantic) get the good stuff.

Mike, what other new stuff is in the picture?

Orange pad, color X, Metal Polysh (I think that is what the bottle says).

Eric

You know.... I'm sitting here trying to be serious.... and then you guys go and make this Q & A fun....

Quit it!

Let's get back to being serious.

Which wax we use, how we apply it and so many other variables mean the difference between life and death!

Detailing is SERIOUS! Don't ever forget it!

Now quit with the jokes and everyone get back to work.... seriously.

Mike ;)

First of all, before today's activity on the Internet... these events were to all be held here in Irvine... now that plans out the window...

Second of all, in order to be invited, you have to go here, and become a sponsor.

Third of all, you want to contact this gentleman, Jeremy Harding,

jharding@meguiars.com

He's your area Rep and after today, I think he'll be putting something together, perhaps a joint-venture between himself and Rod Kraft.

How's that?

(By the way... just kidding on the second thing)

Mike

From what I've heard so far from Meg's UK is that we get the same release date as the US people for the NXT range.

I was told there would be no Pro line of NXT, period. I do think we are slightly ahead in knowledge here as even though at Sema at the time, Megs UK didn't seem to know about NXT before we did here!

Anyway, something to look forward to! :)

Hey Mike. First of all. That was funny. Second of all maybe I will contact Jeremy. Third of all, I would love an invite if you guys go one in ny

Seriously, Thanks Mike.

Like everyone else here you are a straight up guy.

David, from your review results, NXT seems to work a lot like a good glaze. It improves depth, feels slick, hides spiderwebbing, etc. If you were to ignore the durability (unknown, as of now), how would you compare it to, say, IHG or #7?

You can't compare it to IHG or #7 at all. Both of these products are loaded with oils. They are a lot more work to buff out than NXT. If you run your finger across an IHG or #7 finish, you'll leave a streak. Run your finger over the NXT finish and you get nothing.

The NXT finish is dark without having a wet look. It's very clear.
