Question about stroke length of polishers....

I'm looking into the Festool Rotex 150 or the Flex 3401. I was set on the Festool until I read that the Felx 3401 has a larger orbit length of 5/16" compared to Festool's 3/16". Will the slightly smaller stroke length make a difference in correcting power? However, I've been told the Festool is the best "DA" I'll ever use!

I have no issues at all correcting with the Festool FEQ 150 and its 3/16" stroke. Bob from Auto Concierge can tell you best as I believe he has both machines on hand. I had a Flex 3401 over a year ago, but sold it after a short time.

Any other polishers you have or had to compare to the Festool? If so, does the Festool correct better?

As Bryan said I have both, sold my Flex as well. Festool is VERY dependable and beefy only downside is pricepoint and you cannot change the backing plate.

Thanks Bob and Bryan. However, I just ordered the Makita BO6040. On paper, it has slightly higher RPM's than the festool AND is $220 cheaper! :D
