Hi guys, i really want know if any of you have use this steamer, because i ever use this one, its very cheap one, i saw some results that made this one in a car for somebody and looks great, but what do you thinks about this pice, i know its not very big but this cost just 100 bucks so i don't dream with that, but what i have to take care with this, its really dangerous??? to use on cars, if any one have used i really appreciate your comments.

I use a steamer frequently when detailing a car.

Hard to clean wheels

Engines

Sap/Tar removal from paint and trim

Interiors - complete

Hard to clean trim

Convertable tops

Its a must-have for me. I "could" detail without it, but it makes most things a little easier.

Wich steam do you use, its expesive one, because i was seem the one: McCulloch MC-1275

, but somebody tell me this one split a lot off hot water and i can burn something with him, so i don know, anyone can tell me about this McCulloch?

Are you concerned about injuring yourself with the hot water/steam, or damaging the object you are cleaning? I imagine that if the unit was spitting hot water instead of steam that the heating element is dirty, etc. Any of you steamer users have to periodically descale the element like in a humidifier or coffee maker?

8:1 dilution of CLR in the tank for a few hours every week or so is the only maintenance that my VX5000 needs.

Do you use distilled water in it?

^^^^

just use distilled and you don't have to clean it but yearly, even then it will be very easy. I would worry that CLR is acid based and could damage.

Yes.

I wouldn't worry about the CLR. It is recommended by the manufacturer. Also, the insides of my steamer are stainless steel so the acidity shouldn't effect it.

The cleaning interval that the manufacturer recommends is once a month if it is used two or more times per week. In my case it is used quite heavily throughout the week in my shop, which is why I clean it more frequently.
