Question about S100

Hello everyone. I am new to the board and have a few questions. I've been using Zaino for a little over a year now and I really love the way my car shines with it. I just bought some s100 to use as a final wax, which I think is a GREAT product, and I have a few questions about it.

How many coats of S100 can you apply in a 24 hour period?

Can you apply more then one coat?

Do I need to wash my car with Dawn to remove the s100, or can I just wash with z3?

I've done a search and came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You can apply more than one coat of S100 but I think it is best to let it "cure" for about 24 hours.

I've tried it both ways, applying two coats right in a row and applying two coats 24 hours apart.

In my opinon I didn't see much improvement by applying two coats at the same time, but I saw a little improvement by waiting 24 hours.

I've never used Z3 so I can't answer that question.

I use Dawn to remove S100. I've never used any Zaino, but from what I read Dawn won't remove it.

Wait...so you use Dawn to remove S100, but you read Dawn DOESNT remove it? So what would, since i thought a Dawn wash removes all oils, waxes, sealants, etc... I am thinking about switching from Zaino over to an AIO/UPP/S100 combo so i would like to know as well

What he meant was that Dawn will remove the S100 but not remove the Zaino. In general Dawn doesn't harm good sealants like Z much, if at all.

I'm skeptical about how effective Dawn is on certain waxes too, since people have reported it has trouble budging #26.

Mike Phillips has mentioned that #26 is somewhat of a polymer wax, if that might explain something.

Hey guys, how effective is it to layer S100 the next week? I did this to my Grand Cherokee. First I washed it with Clearkote wash and then applied another layer of S100.....Andrew

True, but I think blending carnauba with polymer is reasonably common (I think the Pinnacle waxes do this too). It just seems to work better durability-wise with some brands than others. The problem is, you don't know for sure if some waxes have this or not since they might not advertise it.

Sure, people do it all the time. But if you want to put on another layer of Zaino you need to make sure you get all of the wax off otherwise the Zaino won't "bond"
