Question about Optimum Compound II and Polish II

I'm fairly new to paint correction and compound II and polish II are the first two products I purchased. However, I was very surprised to see that these products are much more of a liquid than I expected. The compound is very runny but has thickened up a little bit, and the polish looks like milk. I've tried shaking them for almost 10 minutes at a time in hopes of thickening them up. Are they supposed to be this way, or am I not do something correctly?

Thanks a lot for the help everyone.

Something doesn't found right. They should be like a thicker lotion. These aren't the ones in the spray bottle (Hyper), right?

No they are not. I figured they were supposed to be more like a lotion. Is there anything I can do besides just shaking it?

I have those in my cabinets as well. From my own experience, I would agree with the others that something doesn’t sound right. I have the smaller bottles that are clear so it’s easy to see when the product needs more agitation until its fully mixed. …..but I never remember having to shake it more than a minute or two (let alone 10) to get to that point. Perhaps some of the product may have solidified at the bottom of your bottles? I might even be curious enough to stick a clean stick in the bottle to dredge the bottom and see what comes up.

If anyone was curious about the outcome. I recieved replacements from Phil at DD today. Couldn't be happier with their customer service. Thanks for the input everyone!

Optimum compound and polish expires, probabaly being they're organic based. Polish gives a "yuck" smell when it does.
