Question about layering #7, IHG, Souveran, etc

OK, here's the situation.

I keep my car pretty waxed up. I like to keep it waxed up, I'm here because I'm that type of person.

I did a complete DACP/IP/FP/PPCL/Souv thing at the end of April. Now some minor swirls are coming back; hey, it's not in a bubble, after all, that will happen. No big deal.

I'm taking my car to the Mazda Rev It Up tour in Philly on the 20th; it will be in the paddock with some other nice Mazdas. I'd like to fill in those swirls, and also keep the Souv Glow.

I know the question has been asked about #7 over Souveran, and from a clean start I would want to apply the glaze first. But, would it be better, with a nice shine of Souv already, to apply the glaze over that, then re-Souv over the glaze?

In other words, should I take it down first, remove all the wax, then IHG (or #7), or can I glaze over the existing Souveran, then re-Souveran over that? Will it be the same, better, or worse?

Sheesh. I wish every problem was this trivial, but at least this one has an answer.

My guess is that most of the Souveran is gone unless you just reapplied a coat. Even still, some PPCL will take the wax right off and get you to the point where you can use a glaze to fill in swirls. Then slap on some more Souv and you'll be good to go.

So, PPCL, #7 if you want to, Souveran, drive to Rev It Up.

LOL, I didn't mention that I rewax it every time I'm bored, like every couple weeks.

Should I PPCL? Or would it be better not to, to IHG or #7 on top of the existing Souv (about a week and a half old)?

You know, this is a good question.

I work with the assumption that any cleanser or glaze will remove the wax, but does it take it 100% completely off or would it look better if you stripped it off with a separate step first? Who knows? :nixweiss

Why don't you try a 1/2 and 1/2 test on your hood, check it out at different lighting conditions and angles, and tell us what, if anything, you find? :)

Good Question? I'm also interested in the answer. But I get board more often than you. At least once per week. Here is what happens when you get board.

I will compare them this weekend. I was going to do it tomorrow (my regular day off), but I have to work insted.
