Question about interiors

Okay, I'm pretty confident about the exterior of vehicles, but I'm hitting a brick wall with the interior. Mostly just spot removers. I've been using Folex and Megs Quick Out carpet stain remover and the Little Green Machine by Bissell. Is this about all I can expect from these products?

The first stain was coffee and my buddy's wife was extatic with how it came out. You can still see a little stain. I couldn't really see well, as I didn't have the lights with me and the LCD is too small to see on the camera, but it looks like it just needed to be hit again to get it completely gone.

The second stain was in the back seat where their 3 and 1 yr old ride and I was unable to really identify it. It had obviously been some kind of liquid at some point, but I wasn't sure. I tried hitting it with the Folex, then a couple of times with the Megs, then just gave up on the stain and shampooed the whole carpet in back to finish.

:bawling: Any other suggestions on carpet cleaning machines that might be affordable? I really think this is the last area that I need help with the basics in before I start getting into paying customer's rigs.

Those results are not bad at all. I'll bet the water in the waste tank was nasty. Try some bac-out by biokleen next time.

To be honest, I have always had really good results using Oxi-Clean in combination with a steam cleaner/MF (I forget if the Bissell uses steam or not)

Those results are pretty good for stains that had obviously been there for some time though.

The other key is to make sure to protect the carpet to prevent the stain in the future. I would hit it with some scotchguard after cleaning to your satisfication.

I just tried a product called "Awsome" found at the Dollar Tree for $1 a bottle. It removed caked in cooking grease on floor mats and brought them back about 85% (Owner owns several Arby's). A local tranny shop owner told me about it and said it was the best he's found for removing grease from carpet and also quickly removed the black stains from his travel trailer that other products wouldn't touch. I had to use it full strength to get the grime off of the leather seats (and then conditioned) and also as an engine degreaser which worked very well. The owner was amazed!

Cool, thanks guys. I'll start trying to find the bac-out, and Awsome.

EOppie, the model I have doesnt' have steam. I think you can get them with or without heat, but that's it. I think I'm going to start looking for a steam cleaner.

John, the price on that thing is WAY out of my range for now. I'll keep it in mind for the future, though.

thanks again.

Thanks! I only just found their website a day or two ago. I'm tired of waiting for 8 days from proper auto care to get my stuff. (not a problem with them, they get the stuff sent out the next day, but they're in Fla and I'm in Wa) How good are they with getting the products out?

Thanks again.:2thumbs:
