Question about cleaning "spinners" or "Spreewells"

Every time I see a set of spinners, I wonder if the baskets are removable for easier cleaning. If not, how would they be cleaned?

I can say that for the REAL spinners, they are removable and not *that* bad to clean but do take more time. For the fakes that around (made of plastic), they are many times attached by the lug nuts and a bit more difficult to clean. Keep in mind that there are MANY different knock offs of these wheels and you will find the spinners attached in various ways.

Best idea I would think would be to ask the owner how to remove the spinners so it is easier to clean the wheels.

I think if the person has spinners, then they probably get the vehicle washed a lot. I don't seen too many vehicles with spinners that are dirty (Unless someone stuck them on some POS to begin with) but not the escalades and what not with spinners. Can probably clean them easily without removing them from the vehicle.

The reason I asked was that I recall the old school wire baskets of the '70s and '80s (which the spinners are somewhat based on)and I had to physically take the baskets off the rim to clean them thoroughly.
