Question about California water blade

I just recently bought a california water blade from the local car parts place and I tried using it on my car and it was REALLY LOUD and it didn't seem to do a good job of getting the water off. I've heard about how well they're supposed to get the water off. Did I just get a defective one or do they all make ALOT of noise? Also, it didn't work well regardless of the noise. What should I do? return it and buy another one online or just return it.

I also dried it using a leather chamois, but it seems that alot of people here like this waffle weave microfiber. This is my first new car in 8 years and it seems like the products for washing cars has changed tremendously. I never liked using the chamois and that's why I bought the water blade. The combo of water blade and chamois is what I was thinking I would do, but as I stated the water blade didn't work and the chamois isn't that great either. I'm guessing most people would recommend getting the WW, but I'm not looking to spend too much on my cleaning products as I know that it will be tough for me to wash and wax too often. I just bought myself a california car duster(haven't tried it yet) which I am hoping will help me to not have to wash my car as much. Any recommendations on inexpensive but good products? I think my biggest problem was drying the car, I hate doing it. I like washing, it's fun, but drying has got to be an easier process. And I have to wash my car at my brother's place, so a blower is not an option.

Any and all help would be much appreciated.
