QEW strip better than AIO?

I'm telling you every time I use QEW it removes everything, squeeky clean! So I did a test, I used AIO and SG on a truck detail and let the SG sit overnight like always. I took a wet sponge and put a little QEW on it and swiped it over half the tailgate and washed it. The AIO/SG side was beading nicely and the QEW side watered gathered very badly. The whole reason I wanted to try this was because of the way QEW cleans up my Zaino bottles very nicely. So I really like QEW but I would only use it on a car that I was going to put sealant on afterwards.

This hasn't been my finding. If I wash our minivan with a QEW wash and subsequently a "regular" wash, the water always beads nicely as if there is some decent protection on it.

Hey Chris,

Maybe it was because I used the QEW full strength, but I would bet good money even diluted it's removing some sealant. When I get around to it I will wash a panel a few times in a row with diluted QEW and see what happens.

Hey well, it does have cleaners in it and is meant to be used at 128:1 so I would imagine that at full strength it would do some LSP removal.;)

Uhhh...Burly...as SpoiledMan said....when you are using at at 128 times the recommended dilution rate, I would think you might encounter some problems, as you would with any wash using it that way.

Why have you been using QEW at full strength? All you are accomplishing is the wasting of product? I use QEW quite often in the winter and never had a problem with it removing my LSP.

Relax folks I just wanted to see what it would do, I wouldn't call it a problem but another way to use the stuff as a stripper if you so feel motivated. However, I would say I believe if you use it diluted it still would fall under the "harsh" catagory of soap, compared to the "mild" sealant protecting type soaps like TOL bubble, IMO.

How does it compare to something like using lighter fluid or mineral spirits?

I didn't compare but I would say probably less than mineral spirits, it doesn't just wipe away super easy like MS. I never tried liter flued either.

Oops, actually this is going to be funny, I went out and used QEW full strength on my Zainoed car and it removed nothing. I went back and forth and back and forth, and rubbed hard but the surface was still very slick. I didn't mean to stir up something but maybe I am having an issue with the SG, or maybe it wasn't cured.

You may indeed be right about that now that I tried it on something else, it must have been the SG many people have been having issues with it lately I hear.

I haven't seen any posts that "people have been having issues with" SG lately.
