QEW and the California Waterblade

I might be booed off the forum for suggesting this, BUT there has been a lot of talk recently about the "perfect drying technique" and some brought up the California Waterblade, which I have used in the past with great success, and it got me thinking.

I live in an apartment and don't have access to a hose and a place to wash my car. However, I do have a garage and I have been using QEW to wash my car over the last couple of months with great success. The normal order of operations for QEW is to wash one panel at a time, drying first with a microfiber towel that should pick up most of the solution and then follow with a WW microfiber towel for the rest. I have been following this procedure and have been happy with the results.

My question is, could you use the California Waterblade instead of the first mircofiber towel to get the majority of the water off? Then follow with the WW. Has anyone tried this? Would this cause micro maring because the water you are sweeping off with the CWB has dirty/road grime/junk suspended in it?

It's just a thought.

I'm a regular CWB user, and get great results using it the PROPER and SMART way...rinsing it insanely frequently.

However, I only use it for traditional washes, when I have the ability to rinse the car as well as the blade. I don't like the idea of using it for QEW. I agree that this is asking for trouble.

I think it's a pretty good thought. The directions on the QEW container say to remove it with a "towel or chamois". If anything is going to scratch, it's the chamois. If a chamois is OK, the CWB may just work and should be worth a try. I might just try it myself this winter.

Not smart IMO. I love the CWB, but primarily the first WW pass when using QEW picks up the dirt that is suspended in the solution. I wouldn't want to CWB that off, so to speak.

Confine the CWB to traditional washes only :)

Ok I'll admit this...I tried this on my black car and it did produce marring. I wiped off the blade after ecery swipe. To be fair I tried it on my trunk with a "normal car wash and rinse and it produced only a few isolated marks. So there was noticably more marring while using it with the QEW.
