QEW and Distilled water ?'s

Alright I got my QEW on the way and I'm hoping it will replace my normal wash routine and be quicker, even though I might miss my Sonax:( :sosad . So I got to thinking about using distilled water as my QEW wter since I always have water spotting problems on my true blue Stang, does that sound like a good idea or maybe someone already uses it and wants to chime in. Also does the temp of the water matter I see alot of people saying they use warm water does it matter:nixweiss ? Will a QD normally get rid of water spots afterwards or are the minerals still there? Thanks guys
 
We have very hard water and I usually use distilled water.



When I use regular water I don't get water spots so I think I'm wasting my money on distilled water but I do it anyway.



I would also like to know about hot water and have used distilled water when my garage was above 115 degrees so the water would be that hot too and it worked the same as when its cold.

Look at my post about my QEW technique. You can use distilled water as the final wipe. You'd only need about 2 cups of distilled water in this case.
 
Unless you have very hard tap water where you are I would not bother since you are supposed to wipe off the QEW from your car as you go.



Also, since you already have added a detergent to the water being put on the paint, it will no longer be hard. Soaps and detergents take minerals out of solution and create "soap scum" that settles out (or floats to the top, I can't remember....). This is why hard water takes so much more soap to be effective.



Water spots left over right after washing can often be QDed out.

It shouldn't / might not matter. As long as you wipe off to dry it shouldn't leave spots. If you want to go crazy u can use aquafina. That was is even more pure than distilled. But that probably true waste of money.
 
ha i used aquafina once at a car show cuz its all i had and couldnt find a hose anywhere, i got so many wierd looks. even from a guy weioth this techr porche, he was sing ,meguiars qd and a old rag btw, made me wanna kill him.
