Qd+

Poorboy's QD+ is a good QD which has carnauba wax. So I would recommend it if your last step is topped off with carnauba or you want that just wax look.

With Aloha,
Ranney :)

QD+ is more of a spray wax than a traditional quick detail spray. I use it to refresh carnauba wax toppers and as a fast touch up on wheel rims and chrome tail pipes. It can also spruce up some of the rubberized trim commonly found around windows.

I only use it on clean surfaces. Precede with a wash or something like Spray & Wipe. Spray QD+ on a towel or applicator pad, wipe on, let haze for a minute, then wipe off the residue.

Well, as it turns out, I was going to do my 2 cents worth of review a while ago, but got ........ "sidetracked." Yeah, that's it .... "Sidetracked."
So, like previously said, It's more of a spray wax than a typical QD. The bottle says it can be used to touch-up the paint after a rainshower, or after washing the car. If you've got some heavier grime, it's suggested that you use S+W first. Light cleaners.
Today, I'll start off with the bad first. (Bad? Surely that's a misprint!:wait ) Well, not everything can be all things to all people. In this case the "bad" is more like "cry-baby whining" on something that's totally avoidable and blameable on user error, but I figger some people won't try all 3 (yes, 3!) ways listed on the label to apply this product.
Me being the type that I am decided to just spray it and wipe it off, such as you might do with a product like ... oh, I don't know ... Spray and Wipe, perhaps?:-p Well, it's thicker than most QD's, so it needs to be spread a little more, and given a little more set up time than some QDs (to haze. But you aren't held to it. You can experiment to suit your preferences. Wipe on, wipe off instead, if you want. How flexible!). Again, like a spray wax if you let it haze. This isn't too bad. The thing that made me go "Aww, Suminagun!" was that the spray, probably due to the carnauba content, turns white (or stays white, I guess) when it hazes, which means that you've got to get all nooks and crannies wiped well or you've got little dots showing up around door handles, windows, etc.
Well, I guess this about ends my "bad" section. If you apply it to the cloth first and then wipe it onto the paint, this shouldn't be a problem (unless of course you're overzealous with the trigger and fire it into the cloth. Not that I'd know, I just thought that this may happen, given the circumstances.) It's almost as though Steve knew that I would try the spray method, so he sent the bottle with only a spout cap, no sprayer. But I proved more determined than to let a little thing like "factory supplied options" deter me!

As to uses, I figger I can probably do at least 20 cars with one 16oz. bottle (4 door compact). The bottle is clear, so you can see if it has separated, as well as seeing exactly how much you've got left. No more "Shake and Guess":bow You gotta like that!
As to the hazing, it lets you know that you've covered everything. It comes off very easily, but then again, what would you expect from a PBW product?:bigups It can get a little streaky, but again, this could be due to user error (incurred solely in the pursuit of a review, obviously. It was intentional, I tells ya!). If it goes on too thick, on a hot day, on a black car, you may have to buff it twice to get it looking good. (Twice! Oh the Horrors!)

I would recommend using 2 towels, one to wipe and one to buff.

It leaves a nice reflective shine, nice feel on the paint, and beads water REALLY well:naughty . Judging from the size of beads before application to how long it took for the beads to return to that size, QD+ seems to last much longer than some other qds, but I don't know how long it lasts as compared to a spray wax, as I haven't really used many (Stay away from Speed Bead - not worth it, IMO).

All in all, another spiffy product from Poorboys World.:dancin

QD+ is more of a quick wax, it is similar in texture and application to NXT Booster wax, but QD+ leaves a better shine.

S&W is a mist, wipe, done kind of product, really simple and much faster to use

2 different products each has it's uses

You have to be very careful with the overspray with QD+. I have quit using it for this reason. With Natty's being so easy to use, I dont see the need for the QD+. I never thought of trying it on tailpipes, but it would be very well suited for that role. Again, if you use it, be careful of the overspray.

WOW, I just saw this one. Thanks for the replies guys! I have picked up QD+ and love it. I have 3 coats on the car in the last 4 days! If you don't like it for some reason and feel the need to send it to a good home, send me a PM. I promise to take good care of it!

Thanks for another great product Steve! :bigups
