QD Suggestions

I have a dark gray metallic A4 with Klasse twins and I use either Pinnacle Signature or S100 as a topper. I have been using Pinnacle's Crystal Mist as my QD, but I have went through the bottle in about 2 weeks, actually I've covered the car about 3 times with it. Any suggestions for a good QD? Price is no object, I want the best.
 
If you're QDing a carnauba topper and price is no object I'd probably stick with the Pinnacle CM. I like it better than EF Clear Pearl, for instance. I also like Griot's Speed Shine, which seems to add quite a bit of wax to the surface, but I don't think it can match the CM for looks.



ClearKote's QuikShine (sp?) works well on anything and some people are just blown away by the new Optimum stuff. But beating CM is gonna be tough.
 
I agree. I think Crystal Mist is probably the best, although I like the Clear Pearl as well. Optimum is a great option, although technically it's not a QD. It is a stand alone new product that will just knock your socks off. I would rather buy a gallon of Optimum for about $40 than to keep buying the Crystal Mist at 20.00 a pop even though money is no object.
 
optimum rocks...OCW..Optimum car Wax is as easy to apply as QD. But,it leaves what the manufacturer claims to be 5 mo. of protection. I dont know about that, but the stuff does rock, and has lasted through some severe rain storms and still beads like crazy.

Thanks!! I think I'll order the 64oz bottle of the Crystal Mist. I seem to have good luck with it.



Anyone ever sprayed the CM on a wet car, then dried with a WW?? I have done that with the Griots before, but I am not sure about the CM.
 
My favorites are Crystal Mist, 4* Carnauba Spray Wax, and Wolfgang. However, I cant believe you only got 3 uses out of a 16oz. bottle; I get the feeling that you are using way too much product.
 
Your using way too much, even as a fanatic a bottle of QD if used after a wash lasts me 20 plus washes. You milage will vary but unless your ride is a Bus it should last more than 4 applications?



The CM is a great QD, if you like that product give the Megs Final Touch a try, its imo a similar product you can get for 15 bucks a Gallon. The only off the shelf local product I really like is Eagle one Wipe and Shine, a real sleeper at $5 a bottle.



If your using Klasse Untopped try the Sonus David sells, makes SG come alive and can be used during Layering with not adverse effects.

The CM was also used on our Mazda 3 after 1 wash, and I use it on my wheels. I use a very light mist, about one spray per panel, 2-3 for the hood. I prefer to get the paint damp as to avoid "dry wiping" and causing scratches. I also go over the entire car with a duster befpre applying between washes.



Better safe than sorry IMO. :P
