QD questions...

Long before finding this board, I had purchased some "Speed Shine" from Griot's garage. Prior to purchasing it sounded like such a great thing to have. I'm presuming this is their version of QD. I find it to be such a pain to put on, that I never use the stuff anymore. Are all QD's put on the same? Speed Shine requires that it be sprayed on, then worked in a bit with a clean towel of MF, and then buffed with a separate MF or towel.

Is this how they all work? I had thought it would be spray on, and work it in, and that's it...

Maybe Speed shine just sucks, and buffing it is particularly hard, but I find nothing "Speedy" about it. :nixweiss

To me,

QD is : mist some QD on let's say a panel , with one MF you take the misted-on QD & the dust off , and with a second MF you buff to a high shine.

No working in.

Hope this helps ,

Well that's what I meant by working in... wiping away what you misted on... Bottom line though, is they all require buffing to a shine afterwards it seems...

with the meguiar's, I just spray on lightly and wipe once with a MF and it shines like a MF(not MicroFiber)

Hmmm, there ya go, that's what I'm talking about now.... :xyxthumbs

Christian, which QD is it that you refer too in your post?

the word buffing here does not have the same meaning as the word buffing like after you have waxed.

With buffing after QD I mean you just go over the area, mostly one pass is enough,to take away the last remains thus preventing streaks.

edit: I use Meguiars QD and Zaino with this technique

Final inspection is meguiar's QD.

All QDs basically work the same...spray on wipe off and then another pass with a clean dry MF to ensure product is removed to ensure no streaking.

Never QD in sun or hot surface as the QD will dry before removing.

final inspection is the qd in meguiars professional line. they also have one in the consumer line called quik detailer or something simple like that.

I have speedshine from griot's garage just spay it on and rub it in untill it disappears KEEP TURNING THE TOWEL to a clean section.NICE FINISH I have no problem with that product .I like it a lot not to mention the bottle it comes (with the big sprayer)

Has anyone used Meguiar's Final Inspection for quick detailing on top of Souveran? Does it dull the "Souveran shine"?
