QD+ OR Spray & Gloss?

I've read and heard great things about both of these products, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what the main difference between the two is? Is it simply that the QD has carnuba? I guess I'm looking for the best product in between waxing/after a good wash application that will give good shine and protection, but can also be used as a clay lube with easy on easy off.

Any idears or thoughts?

Mike

QD+ is much more of a quick wax than a quick detailer in my experience. It's very thick. You have to keep it shaken well if you want to spray it. It's got a great look though but it's not like any other QD spray I've ever used. It really is more like a quick wax to work with. Very similar to Stoner Bead Max when it comes to working it - if you've ever used that.

I have not used Spray and Gloss so I can't compare the two from experience. But from what I've read it's going to be more like a traditional QD spray except with some cleaners in it. Perhaps someone who's used it will clarify.

Spray & Wipe = Use for cleaning
Use S & W anytime there is dust or dirt on the surface.

Spray & Gloss = Very little cleaning - no protection - high gloss & slickness
Use S & G when the surface is clean, and you want to add gloss/shine.

QD+ = No cleaning - adds protection(carnauba) & gloss
Use QD+ on a clean surface when you want to add protection & shine.

I have used both QD+ and S&G. I like S&G better-provides a great shine. QD+ is nice, but more of a wax than a detail spray.

Boss_429 -That was an excellent explanation!

Mikeyzr: S&W and S&G are both awesome and worth the investment. Search the board and you'll find many folks agree. Steve (Poorboys) will help you out if you have any questions. It might be a good idea to give him a call before placing an order.

Actually ...a slight correction:

Spray and Wipe ...no protection

Spray & Gloss ....some protection ...has a water based polymer

QD+ ...does have chemical cleaning ability

So if QD+ has chemical cleaning ability, will it strip your existing protection?

I'm using it after washing on top of AIO/SGx2/Natty's...

I also noticed that the QD+ has been reformulated. I have the separating version that isn't WIWO, but first smears? then is buffed out.

Regardless, I like the results...

I would suspect that the QD+ doesn't have a lot of cleaning ability. Therefore, it probably won't remove much of the product underneath. However, Steve knows his products the best, and I'm sure he'll stop by with the final say.

Whatever the case, I would NOT use QD+ for whatever cleaning ability it might have. Don't use it on a dirty surface. Use it as a quick wax on a clean surface.

I stand corrected.

It will remove some of the LSP , the amount will depend on how it is applied.
By hand very little will be removed, by machine, the friction of the pad will remove more.

The version you have is the same as it always was and will still be. Waxes that can be sprayed will always seperate due to the solvents being lighter than the wax. It can be used as a WOWO or it can be left to dry and then buffed off.

Can Spray & Gloss be used over a sealant like UPP??
And can you add another coat of sealant after using Spray & Gloss??
