QD after wax???

I like to spray a QD on the car when I have completed everything. Being that I placed a coat of wax on as the last step, is the QD going to take the wax off? If so, what do you guys do for a final wipedown?

make sure and use a QD that does not have cleaners. I think some have cleaners and some others have polymers. I may be wrong about all that lol. I use OS and then top it with Deep Detail after about 30 min.

Most times after waxing, I QD to make sure all of the residue is gone. I used to use meguiar's QD a lot, but now use optimum no rinse as it is more cost efficient.

I do as well use FK-425 after waxing. I also use FK-425 after I am done washing the car. It really helps in the slickness of the paint.

Same here, but I have had *one* instance where I ran into the sort of issue that mikebires is concerned about.

In that *one* instance, I spritzed FK425 over fairly fresh (applied and buffed a few hours ago) 476S. I got very light, smeary effects, apparently from a solvent action that the FK425 caused.

Note that the vehicle in question had *severely* compromised paint, early-stage cc failure, checking, and pitting you wouldn't believe. It's my opinion that there was an excessive amount of "extra" wax trapped in the not-so-micro fissures/crackes/pits of the paint and that the FK425 softened this extra wax up.

On the sides, which were in much better condition, the smearing was minimal to nonexistent.

Extensive buffing with distilled water spritzes and CBTs cleared *most* of it up, but had the situation been different I probably woulda rewashed it.

But again, that was the only time this has happened out of *many* FK425 final steps, and I just *gotta* think that the messed up paint played a pivotal role.
