Q about Viking foam pads

New guy here and although I've been reading the boards for awhile now I decided to sign up and join the family! :D

I've been reading about these Viking foam pads (see this thread: http://www.autopia.ws/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4434&highlight=Zaino) and am just a little concerned about using a foam pad on my paint. How safe is it, will it scratch? With all the talk about blotting dry, no dragging anything accross the paint, using MF towels, I am just unsure of this. Can anyone alleviate my fears?

Thanks

Foam pads made for car use are fine. Even when dry I don't think they should scratch at all if clean. I did a CD scratch test on a common Meguiar's foam pad a couple months back in the reviews section and found it safe. :up For many people like me, foam pads are used almost exclusively. They don't use up much product and clean up pretty good.

You might want to get a couple terry covered pads to supplement though, because trying to work SMR by hand with a foam pad drove me INSANE from the screeching! :p

LOL, With that screeching, I was getting goose bumps every few seconds...Like fingernails on a chalkboard. I just kept thinking WTF until I switched to the terry.
