PwS

Well, I think (although I haven't tried Ver.2) that that would be a better alternative for the "less step proned" as they will likely not maintain it as well, so you would have a fair bit of marring to address, as well as clean. Not being as strong as a compound or even a strong polish, one could use it repeatedly without worrying about "rubbing off the paint" while at the same time getting rid of the lighter stuff. (Just getting rid of snow brush strokes makes a car look soooo much better/clearer!)
As for the "more concerned than the previously mentioned person, but still not going to go all out more than once a year" type, a stronger polish/weaker protection AIO would allow them to better maintain the finish, and then possibly alternate between PwS and something like EX or EX-P if they liked to "top" monthly, but not do too much work.
And, just to ramble on a bit more, I'd recommend it be able to do something that PwC doesn't, if this makes sense.
 
Its true thery're are alot of swirl removers out there. I guess I'd like to see somtheing that help decrease the number of steps, but leave a spectacular finish. I'd leave it to my final LSP for durability. I live in sunny florida I can reapply just about any time.
 
I think version 2 would be great for those of us who like to add a sealant and/or carnauba after the cleaning step. For instance this summer I'll be trying the PwC, EX, Natty's Blue trio... but it'd be nice to do something like PwS + Natty's. I think it would be appealing since those who prefer sealants could throw either EX or EX-P on top of PwS, and those who prefer carnaubas could throw something like Natty's on top of it since topping sealants with carnaubas is a popular thing around here. I know it's aim is to be a one-step, but IMO it could be a great option for part of a two-step process... just thought I'd throw that out there. I'm sure whatever Steve decides will turn out to be fantastic.
 
Are they both going to be able to clean up hazing left from SSR2.5 and similar products? I'd love to be able to 2.5>PwS>wax on cars that had a decent amount of swirls.
 
It cleared the hazing on my friends vehicle. I did part of the hood with SSR 2.5 just to see if hazing could be removed. Which it did, quite well.

Sounds good. Was the 2.5 being used with a polishing pad?

Also did you use version 1 or 2?
 
I used LC yellow cutting pad with the SSR2.5.

I used the PwS second version which has the cutting power of SSR2.

Sealant with Polish (version 1)

we need more ack's PwS and SwP : - )

As an enthusiast, I think the last thing I need is an expanded product selection from the same manufacturer. It's hard enough as it is.

personally I never thought of using a cutting pad, but I guess followed by a polishing or finishing pad would remove any haze caused by the cutting pad.
A one step product with a cutting pad would actually become a two step product:rolleyes:

That's what I was thinking. You could just go ahead and use SSR1 or SSR2 first and then use the PwS.

Poorboy, do you have a guess as to when you'll decide which one you'll go with?
 
After discussing the pros and cons of each of the previous two versions of PwS with my chemist he has agreed to make a third version with the properties of both previous versions. He said he'd start working on it in a few days and hoepfully we will see it soon.:)

:bigups :bigups :bigups While it is both frustrating and expensive to continue the research, I think it was the right move.
Not because of any product shortcomings, but because you weren't completely satisfied.
Tough call, but probably the right call.
