PwS Review- Input Needed

This is an interesting thread. I look forward to your observations on all of the products that you have tested.

I found the PwS to be what you had discovered. A good product! It did clean and shine my vehicle very well.
 
One week update:
The vehicle was left inside for 3 days and then driven for the past 3. It was in the lower 30's today so I decided to give the Jeep a quick wash (NXT soap)and snap some more pictures for you guys. I don't know how some of you get the great bead shots but I couldn't figure it out so be patient with my photo skills.

My thoughts:
PwS- Still holding tough, the slickest of the bunch after one week and a wash.
PwC- A little less slick than the PwS but is above AIO and OCW. Still a very good product.
AIO- A little dissapointed with the slickness after one week, I had some high hopes after the first two days, but then again I didn't expect AIO to last long as a stand alone.
OCW- Still dissappointed with the slickness but the beading was decent. It's a little difficult to tell if it is protecting or not.

The clairity could be better for all products but that may be because of the lighting outside- overcast. Yes that's snow on the ground...going to get more this week aswell... Questions or comments???

I'm kinda surprised about the OCW after reading so much about it from other members.Glad to hear PBs is holding up.Thanks for keeping us posted
 
My pleasure, it's really fun conducting a test like this even more so with new products to me. I was surprised with the OCW aswell. I did 3 coats on a Carolla last week and it was pretty slick, but after 2 on the Jeep I'm disappointed. Its about in the middle between the bare paint and a typical sealant. I'm going to be on vacation for the next few days and I will have an update once I am back. :cheers:

Is PwS still due to come out in spring?
 
Only after a week it's hard to tell which product is going to last the longest. I am happy that PwC and PwS are still similar to when I applied it over a week ago. For this test I've been using the back of my fingers to test the slickness and looking at water beads to tell if there is any protection on the vehicle. I can't seem to find any other way to do so. We just got about 4 inches of snow and it just slid off the hood with a little help with my arm. Maybe OCW isn't known for the slickness of a sealant but will still last a while??? I'm not sure but time will hopefully tell! Take care everyone! I'll have more observations in a week when I get back from Florida, after visiting PAC too!

It's been three weeks so far and now there is a noticable differences between the products. First of all, PwS seems to be the best product on the paint right now. PwS is just a tad slicker than OCW and there is a big difference between these two and AIO & PwC. AIO was the closest to the bare paint from the best I can tell. I drove in the rain yesterday and surprisingly I noticed a line in the middle of the hood distinguising where AIO and PwS are. So I did a S&W wipe down and got these results. PwS and EX are also holding up just as well as the PwS alone.

Next test- (maybe) test PwS and AIO with cleaning capabilities against an oxidized finish or something like that. The only problem is I have to find a vehicle with an oxidized finish first!
 
So it's almost been a month and the hood and reflects that. There is a significant decrese in slickness from just a few weeks ago but there is still some product left of the surface I believe. It's really hard to tell which product lasted the longest up to this point. This test was interesting for me to find out if I would ever leave one of these products as a stand alone again. I would use PwC and PwS in the future as a stand alone for vehicles that I would only see one time who want just a wash and a wax most likely. Or on boats and RVs aswell. AIO I probably wouldn't leave as a stand alone again and I will be using OCW after washes from now on because it gives off a good shine. But then again this test was done in the middle of winter with ice, snow and salt that abused the surface aswell.
 
Allright Picture time. The fist two are water beading shots. The beading seems to be a little sloppier(?) than before.

This next shot is the one that makes me believe that there is still some protection left. I used the sheating method to rinse off the hood and this was the result. I was impressed.

I used the awesome Guzzler WW towel to dry and this thing is huge! and it does a great job aswell.

The last two are reflection shots. The reflection kind of dissappointed me aswell. But it has been a month during the winter so I should have expected that. For those of you Southerners, you will still be able to see the reflection of the snow in the trees....

Thanks everyone for the help for choosing the products and I hoped you enjoyed this thread for the last month. This weekend the Jeep will probably recieve a layer of UPP to get it through the rest of the winter if weather permits. :)

Am interested in how you applied the water on for the beading? Have been testing carnuaba's as of late. Was lucky to get a real rain to do my beading shots. It seems like every time that I have tried to use a hose for the beading it appears to not be working. Not like a rainfall that I had the other day.

You're welcome everybody. :yes: It was hard to get any good beadng but I put the hose on a mist and pointed it to the sky and let it 'rain' on the surface. However, after the snow melted today from the Tacoma with SGx2 and OCWx2 there were hundreds of very small beads...like nothing I have ever seen before. I wish I had a camera. Every bead was perfectly round and amazing. Anyhow Detail City rules and I wouldn't have been able to do this test without Detail City or Steve from Poorboys so thank you!
 
Budman, thanks for the fantastic job on the review and accompanying pics. As a newbie, I fee like I know what these products can do without ever having used them. You probably saved me $$$ and time trying these products.
