PwC on Corolla, NICE!

Zesty, you are a top notch detailer. And to think you're only 16 (17?)

You're going to be the youngest Jedi Master of car detailing if you keep it up!

I put both the PwC and the EX-P on by hand with a yellow foam applicator. I worked both products from front to back in straight lines. I applied PwC to the entire car before wiping it off using a micro. I dampened my applicator with for EX-P with water. After I applied EX-P to the car I let it bake(because the sun was out and it was mid 80's) for about 70 minutes and wiped off with a micro. Even though is some places it was on thicker than others the micro had no difficulty in removing the EX-P.

Have you tried applying both with a PC?
I apply both by PC all the time. I use a polishing pad with the PwC, and a finishing pad with EX-P. For pads, I'll either use Lake Country 7.5" Curved Edge or Edge2000 6" DA models. Apply PwC to the whole car at speed 4.5, then wipe off. Apply EX-P to the whole car at speed 3, wait 45 minutes, then wipe off. Note: EX-P needs a damp applicator, so spritz a little distilled water on the pad first.

Thanks awd330. Do you apply the PwC and polish it in until it basicallty dissappears? About how much of each product do you apply to a certain area? Thanks.

Yes, buff until you barely see it. A little goes a very long way. My process is to prime the pad by squeezing one thin line of product all the way around the pad (about 1/2" from the polishing edge), then massage/spread it into the pad with your fingers. Afterwards, squeeze another thin line of product around the pad and you're ready to go to work. You may be able to do 1-3 panels (depending upon the size) before having to reapply more product to the pad. No need to repeat the massaging/spreading with the fingers process. That's only done to initially prime the pad.

Looks great Zesty man . I'm new to the board and going to have to figure out all these acronyms and abbrv.'s ..Its driving me crazy. because whatever PwC is it works nice.

WOW! That is a fantastic job!Really fine work zesty. Btw I read on this site that the brown that comes out/off the tires when you clean them is not a good thing. Something about it's in the tire for protection.:dunno

first off, thanks for the comments guys!!

hmmm, thats a very interesting point that you make. for the most part, i think its dirt and oil and stuff coming off. when i first rinse this stuff off the tires, the water is almost black, its so dirty. HOWEVER, i did notice that my tires seemed to look brown after i cleaned them. i remembered reading something about tire browning here, so all i did was top it with BnB, and the brown disappeared instantly.

as for applying with the PC, i went with the LC white polishing pad first at 3 to work it in, then at about 5.

I thinks it something about eating the carbon away that protects the tire. I've been wrong before and sorry for not knowing exactly . I remember seeing something on TV about the carbon injected into the rubber during the making of the tire to give it its uniform black color and protection..

Wow! How could I have missed this thread. Great work zesty-man! The lights are dancing on that hood. :) I'm happy the tire cleaner worked out great.

Hawaiianelement just got a hold of some PWC so we should be hearing from him shortly. :) Hopefully, we get to see a few pics.

How much did you charge?

With Aloha,
Ranney :)

well........ considering im spending the tip on some UPP and other goodies......... maybe ill have to wait a bit till i have the funds to get myself a gallon of anything :)

Beautiful job! :bow I really need to try what you used, though I don't think I could come through with it looking that good. Do you have the names of the applicators you used? What material are they?

That car looks stunning.

i used the Lake Country polishing pad 6'5. not quite sure what its made out of, but im sure that it would be easy to figure out from some guys here. as for the parts that i couldnt get to with the polisher, i just used some foam apps, and lots of ranney's mfs :)

and im sure that your job would be just as good, if not better, than mine. PwC was a real simple one step product, and left the surface really smooooooooooooth
