PVD Wheel Coating

I was looking at getting a new set of wheels for my lifted truck. I have gone through a few sets of chrome (which even with the best of care, still pitted and rusted like mad) so I recently purchased a black set, which are nice, but the chrome really makes a difference. I am actually eyeing up Worx Beast 17x9 on 35x12.50 tires. They say that they are PVD coated with a satin clear over them. My question is, being in the Northeast and enduring some crazy winters with salt brine sprayed on the roads as well as salt, is the PVD coating really more durable than chrome? Does anyone have a PVD coated wheel, and what are your opinions?

Thanks

I've got PVD coated wheels in a black chrome finish on my Marauder. No winter use though. If I recall correctly the PVD finish is also treated with a clear powder coating so I would expect winter use would be O.K. Check with the company that does the PVD finish.
