Putting on S100/P21S How much??

Kinda bored today so was reading some old threads here. Found some about putting wax on as thin as possible. OK, let's say i'm using S100 with the applicator that comes with it. If I "swipe" the applicator inside the jar, how big an area should that one "swiped" applicator do? 1/4 of the hood, 1/2, etc. God, I have way to much time on my hands. I can't even believe i'm walking around thinking about this stuff, LOL. I'm very worried about myself.

Kind of hard to say how far 1 swipe will go. I guess it depends if the pad is already saturated with product, Its not important how far it goes, but coverage is what matters here. You want to be sure you have applied product to the surface, and nothing more. Some people think if "I put it on nice and thick, its better for durability". Not so, you end up wiping everything but a microlayer anyway. So put on just enought to dull the appearance of the paint, look at it from various angles, and your done !

Look think of is as a jar that costs $2000.A thin layer and I do mean thin layer just enough to cover........in other words very little.

It also very much depends on the smoothness of the paint. If the car has been freshly clayed and polished, you will use substantially less wax than if the car is gritty (which shouldn't be waxed over anyway). A gritty, unclayed surface will have more surface area to wax over, and the raised bumps will tend to pick wax off the applicator.
