Putting my first order in on Monday

I've been using the Mother's line of detailing in the past, but figured I'd go with something a little more for my next ride: 2003 GTI 20th AE in Black Pearl Magic. Here is what I'm looking at so far

Autopia Perfect Shine Kit $79USD

Autopia Glide, Block & Waffle Detailing Clay Kit $29.95USD

Ultimate Drying Towels 2/$26.95USD

P21S Wheel Cleaner (not sure if regular or gel?)

Unsure of which wash cloth/mitt to go with?

And I'm sure I've missed a few items, so please add them....

PS I'd like to be able to locate some of these items locally, since the exchange rate, shipping & duty will kill me. So if you know of any shops/stores in Canada that stock some of these items (or something of equal) please let me know. Thanks in advance....

Send a PM to DavidB to see if they'll work with you on the duty. I know I have talked about this with him in the past.

As for products, you're pretty much set for getting a new car set up. As it ages, you may want to invest in a PC and some abrasives, but for now, you're good.

Oh, you may be interested in the matte look interior stuff from Autopia also.

tire dressing!! for matt, i like 303. For semi-shiny, i like EF black sapphire and clearkote's dressing. clearkote's tire dressing leaves a nice shiny finish; it seems outlasts EFBS by a few weeks, and it dulls down to a nice matte finish similar to that of 303. Each of them will cost around $20 for 32 oz.

you might want to think about something like Engine Kote to keep that brand spankin new engine nice and shiny (after David did a post on using it on his wheel wells i tried it as well and it looks GREAT). I Love the stuff... just make sure you get a spray bottle with the finest mister on earth.

You might want to get some SG...

i second the 303 recomendation

i have the matte kit on order and it should be here tomorrow or the next day! I CANT WAIT!!! must....feed.....the.....need.....

hope i helped a little

Well....I would hate to take money from David's hands but because you live in Canada I would recommend Mother's Clay as opposed to the G,B & W.

Missed a few items......uh ya'....good thing there isn't a character limit on posts here....whew!

Check out this post of mine:

Canadian Rule #1: In the event of a performance tie in any category - go for the locally available product or you may end up in divorce court (if single - you won't have money for evenings out).

Looks like I'll be adding 303 to the list. This stuff seems pretty durable & has alot of uses (which I like).

I still have some Mother's clay bar lying around, so I might just stick with it. That is unless the other brand is better?

About the P21S wheel cleaner, I've found a local supplier ($34CDN a bottle, not sure of the size). Just wondering if I should apply a wax or something to wheels to enable easier cleaner?

And MF towels, what to look for? I'm sure I can get those locally too....

OK so it took me a well, but I put my order in and have already received it earlier this week. I can hardly wait to try this stuff out. Just need to wait for the car to arrive.

BTW David really knows how to pack his product. I doubt nothing in theose boxes were about to move even an inch. Very tight & protected :bigups

$34 a bottle?? Personally I wouldn't pay that much and go with what works: Eagle One A2Z. Either that or Klasse the wheels and forgo wheel cleaner all together.

For washing media try Wal-Mart. I think they have a nice sheepskin mitt for $7. The thread Paco linked is good info too. Be sure to read it....
