Putting Carnuba on top of Klasse SG

Hi everyone,





I plan on putting 3 layers of Klasse SG and then top it off w/some pure carnuba on my Legend.



My question is:



After a couple of car washes etc. do I need to reapply the carnuba or start another layer of SG on top? I am assuming I would just add another layer of carnuba.





PS: Whats a good carnuba wax that I can apply? I have a persian red Acura legend so its a very deep reddish color. I really want to accenuate that as well as having a high quality long lasting carnuba wax on top.

I just did the same thing - put on 3 layers of SG and then topped with P21S/S100 wax.



I plan on adding a second layer of carnauba next time I wash the car!
 
I personally use S100 on the silver car and Pinnacle souvergn on the black (they both are excellent in giving that dept and shine). If you want a longer lasting wax(since I think they need to be applied every 4wks or less on a everyday driver. May last longer, this is an estimate) try blitz wax, great shine and longer lasting.



Once SG is topped with a carnauba, you should not reapply SG (you can reapply more carnauba wax). This goes for any synthetic wax that they do not cure well on top of carnaubas. There is no need to add more of klasse AIO or SG (they will last 6 months).:)
 
I use S100 ontop of three coats of Klasse SG. You could tell a difference in both slickness and deepness of the paint.



After you put a coat of carnauba over Klasse SG, then simply reapply the carnauba. Klasse SG won't bond to a surface w/ carnauba on it.
 
I Klassed my wife's black minivan recently. Great shine but not very deep. This past weekend, I topped it with Blitz and now it looks right. I've topped with both Blitz and S100. The shine and slickness are about the same, however... 1) my dark blue car looks darker with the blitz. I think the color is truer with S100. 2) Blitz attracts dust like crazy which is not true of S100, 3) Durability is hard to assess because of the Klasse underneath. I suspect that they are similiar, 4) Blitz is a fair amount cheaper than S100 although I can buy S100 locally and is therefore more convenient.

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I might just use S100 instead of Blitz. THe last thing I want is my car attracting dust via blitz!
 
The Blitz = dust has been talked about many times. I have been using Blitz for many years and have never noticed this. If you can get Blitz try it, you will not regret it.

You're lucky. I thought all the dust that accumulated on my car was normal until I switched to S100 and Souverän. Since I've switched waxes my car stays pretty clean. Maybe all the dust particles in the U.K. get sucked up into the clouds and creates all that rain. :confused:
 
Uff, the one or two times I have actually used Blitz, I COULDN'T BELIEVE how dusty the hoopty got, even later the same day I put it on! I like the shine and durability of it, but man, I had to break out the Mist N Shine and MF towel right away! Usually I can go a week or two without having to worry about qd-ing.....

Maybe all the dust particles in the U.K. get sucked up into the clouds



That must be it :D Maybe that explains why I have so many odd socks ;)

Higher humidity makes a great difference on the amount of dust that collects on wax. The old Blackfire in my desert area was horrible in the summer. Couldn't use it without a topcoat. But in winter when humidity is traditionally higher, no dust even in last years no snow on the ground at lower elevations.
 
Anyone do the half S100 half Blitz hood to see which really does attract more dust? Just curious.



My advice is to add the SG until you don't see a difference in shine, then add carnauba for depth.
 
I haven't done the 1/2 hood comparo...but when using Blitz, it seems to collect a lot more dust than normal for the first week or two and then settles down. Of course, I live in a dry, dusty climate so using Blitz just made my situation worse. On the other hand, P21S does a terrific job of NOT attracting dust starting from day one.
