purchasing PC, please help me with pad selection

I am going to purchase a PC 7336 soon and need your help in pad selection.

The two cars needing the most help are:

- dark green 1997 BMW. paint is in good shape but does have some cobwebs - see picture.

- dark blue 1996 Honda. I think it's been repainted but the paint has the beginning stages of oxidation and lots of cobwebs

I was going to get one cutting foam and one polish foam pad. Once the problems are corrected I suspect only polishing will be needed from time to time. From what I gather reading these forums, you don't save a lot of time applying LSP by machine so I plan to apply it by hand.

I will likely try either Menzerna, Optimum or Poorboys product line. Would like to try Zaino but it looks like there too many steps.

Please tell me which pad and brand would work well and won't cost a lot of money.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

I cant help you with the pad selection because i only have a few and have not experienced others. But what i can tell you is that Zaino is really easy to use. THe instructions are way too long and can be put into just a few steps.

Mix Z2 or Z5 with ZFX in the small 2 ounce bottle.

Shake for about 2 minutes

Apply a very thin coats

Remove after drying (around 30 minutes)

Additional option: Spray Z6 and wipe with a Micro Fiber rag

Apply another coat of z2 or z5 and remove just like before

Additional option: same thing

Another coat (if wanted)

Use Z8 after 3 coats

You are done!

Its basically apply very thinly/ clean off with z6 / apply / z6 / apply / z8

I only have the Propel pads, so if you go that route I would recommend that you get at least one light cutting (green) and one medium cutting (orange) pad for polishing. If you don't already have one, you also want to get a flexible backing plate. You can get them only through exceldetail.

If you decide on Optimum polish, just remember that the bite of the polish depends on the pad. In other words, you can use OCP with a light cutting pad for light polishing or OCP with a medium cutting pad for more bite. If OCP and a medium cutting pad doesn't get out your marring, you'll either have to go over the surface again and see if that works or move up to a stronger polish like Optimum compound.
