Is that aftermarket zesty? Or just stock. I do have chrome tips and its worth it!

i dunno if its after market, but you guys kinda read my mind. what i really want to do is change the exhaust, though it may affect my warranty. if it does affect my warranty, i may just put some chrome tips on it, like ranney and his 4runner :)

thanks for the comments guys. there was a black 325i, but i wanst in the mood for imperfections. i chose silver becuase it was easy to take care of, and i wanted to make it slickkkk. i was really looking for white, but they didnt have any white. they sold their last white the other day, so i just had to improvise.

Zesty,

What cars were you looking to buy before you went to the BMW dealer? I'll be getting my first car soon and I'm wondering what you'd suggest for the mid 20s price range.

Zesty I believe those are chrome. You will just hafta polish em up more :D I highly suggest 3 coats of UPP. You will be amazed!

to tell you the truth, i always wanted to have a 325i. it was the car of my reachable dreams. i knew that if i found a good one in a good price range, id probably end up buying it, which i did. however, the other company that i was looking into was acura. those new acuras are really expensive, 30k+, but you could get a used TL, RSX, or TSX for around that price range. those are really nice cars and i actually thought i was gonna end up with a TL, but then i ran into the 325. but something you may have to take into account is that cars here are a bit more expensive in general because of shipping. i think you cant go wrong with acura or BMW. not sure about mercedes, those are pretty expensive....... you may be able to get a 2001 C model for under 30k, but for me, most of the mercedes that i saw USED were about 28k, and they were before 2000.

Congratulations Zesty,
Hard work and saving money has its rewards.
Now get out the UPC and 3 coats of UPP and prepare to impress the ladies :)

Dang, my first car was a $50 Rambler 440 Custom. The seats were awesome folded down flat to make a double bed (almost) great for relaxing at the drive-in. For those that may not know a drive-in was a big parking lot where you "watched" movies.......LOL.

Great looking beemer by the way

Cool. I forgot about the extra $ you Hawaiians have to pay factoring in. Acuras are great cars IMO, especially the TSX. But you can
never go wrong with a BMW. :)

Nice Ride!!! Best of luck with it...

I see people trying to point you in the direction of advice for hooking your car to be a sweet ride! If you plan on doing any Stereo up grades ... I recomend www.the12volt.com They have a great group of professionals that are always willing to help.... Also I tend to be quite experienced my self as I have done a few custom installs myself!

Awesome car, congrats! I have a friend who also has a 2001 TiSilver 325i and it's a very nice car! It sounds like you got a really great deal on it. Does it have the Xenon headlamps too? Anyway, enjoy your first car!

Has your car got xenon on it? My local dealer wanted
an extra USD$1800 exclusive of labour for fixing it, I turned it down coz too expensive :whine

Will the installation of new type cermaic brake pads help cure most of that?
I have ceramic pads on my car. The ceramics are OEM for the Maxima SEs. They still dust, though it IS less than normal pads. Don't expect to have weeks of dust-free wheels.

thanks for the comments guys, im not quite sure about xenon lights, but i probably dont have it :(. i was checking out this computer in my car today, where it would give you your average speed etc etc, pretty intersting, but i couldnt get it to work. i think i may have to do a little more research..

today i spent nearly two hours cleaning my rims and putting some sealent on them :). wow, thats about half an hour a rim!

all i really used was some S&W to take off the brake dust that had already been there, and used some of my newest sealent, rejex. i wanted to see how long it lasts. from what i hear, colginate (?) is a good wheel wax too. it pretty much killed my back for a day, even with the creeper. i made sure to seal off about every spot, going nice and slow and getting into every little place that i could. ha!, take that brake dust!

i learned that after some careful inspection, there is some stubborn specs of brakedust that just wont come out. i also noticed a bunch of knicks and stuff of the rims, but theres nothing that you can do about that except make the rims shine, and hope to hide them :)

First off congrats on your bimmer.

I'd look into making contact with your local BMWCCA chapter. http://www.bmwccahawaii.com/

Setting up networks with these guys (and gals) can be very helpful should you need any help or advice aside from dealer "customer service."

You could aso join the BMWCCA. I'm not certain how much it is for Hawaii residents, but it is might be worth a look. You'll get a monthly magazine with the typical bmw info, but it also has very helpful tech articles. Probably even better, with the membership, you get 10% discounts at the dealer. Other places will honor it too... I got my Leatherique redye kit for a discount with my membership.

Anyway my salespitch is over, enjoy the road.

Congrats

I have driven them for years I currenly drive a 2000...328i with the luxury package and upgraded sound system. Changed the rims to RK2 BBS low profiles.

Take good care of the car and it will you!
