Purchased my first car today!

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
today my family and i decided to go to mercedes to check the lease on my mom's ML 320. her lease was for 48000 miles and she already has 46000 miles on it with 6 months left on her lease. anyways, we were looking at possible options as in getting a new lease etc etc. the car we were interested in getting was the E class, but we learned that it was really expensive, 55k for the one we wanted. anyways, we really felt the pressure from the dealer, and it felt like he wanted us to purchas the car that day, rite then and there. so as we were waiting, i saw across the street the BMW dealer, with some sweet cars there. so after we walked out of the mercedes dealer, we went on over to the BMW dealer and started looking at some cars...

basically, the only thing i was looking for a 3 series and nothing else. there was some reallly nice cars there. we had a really nice salesperson and we started browsing around. we came across this 2000 323i that was really nice, and we took it for a test drive. anyways, as we were going over it, we found that it had a very limited warranty on it. then, the guy recommended that we look at this other car that was very similar to it, a 2001 325i. the only problem was, it was about 5 g's more expensive. however, we took it for a test drive and found that it was superior to the older one. the reason why was becaues it had the luxary package and the previous owner had changed the suspension to make it smoother. it felt wayyy better. so we spent a couple hours there talking over it blah blah blah. we finally figured that we were gonna buy it, however, i said that i needed a day to think about it. the dealer asked me, what will it take to have you buy the car rite here on the spot? i kept thinking and thinking and i finally made him an offer. this guy was really nice, he even showed us the kelly blue book price.

anyways, i told him 23.5 and we'll buy it on the spot. after about 5 minutes, he came back and said congrats. the only reason my parents bought this car was because its safe, and that i paid for the down payment, $10,000. now were paying about 239 month starting in jan which is really cool. heres some stuff that it came with

new battery
tinted windows
good suspension
spoiler
luxary package
some good sounds
leather interior

and the pics..... when i think about it, im really a spoiled child. i think i have like the 3rd nicest car at my school, but i paid less than everyone else (they all got theirs new)

heres the first thing that bothered me a bit. there was a prety sizeable scratch on the hood. however, being that its silver, its much harder to see. im probably gonna have ranney buff it out with his rotary if possible :)

Will the installation of new type cermaic brake pads help cure most of that?

I hope so, I just had ceramics put on mine, and that was one of the reasons. I'll find out soon :lol

Congrats Zesty! Yes you're spoiled :-p, but that's okay. Buying a used car can be a very economical way to move into a higher class of vehicle. Welcome to the BMW club. :bigups Polish those wheels, then put on some sealant. That will make the brake dust cleanup much easier.

hmmm, i woke up today to find this guy under my car.... its weird, i guess my cat likes new cars or something. when my mom's car was new, he was the first one to sleep on it overnight.... i guess he likes being around new stuff

Zesty,

Welcome to the club! I don't personally own my bimmer but I steal it and drive it whenever I can. You will love silver as it can hide dirt so easily, but sometimes you just want more out of the paint. Either way its a great car. I suggest you surf e46fanatics.com But beware that you will want to start modding your car. Bimmerforums.com or dtmpower.net aren't bad either. I really don't think any forums have any good detailing sites.

Now go grab some OEM Clears! :D

Wow! Sweet car. You can't go wrong with a silver Bimmer. My dad's friend has a '99 silver 323i and it still looks and drives awesome. That's a cool aftermarket muffler too. :bigups

Congrats and enjoy your car! I'm pretty dang jealous right now. :drool
