PUPP review

I don't have UPP ( yet) but if you think I could put in a spray bottle and squirt a drop or two onto a mf pad just to maximize spreading it thin, then it sounds very attractive. I've been doing this with SG for a while now, works great

the latest version of upp is very thin and could probably be put into a spray bottle, it doesnt seem too oily. a little goes a long way.

but I am very used to applying products thinly. :up

How much exatly do you use and on what pads? Foam, MF etc... and what is the exact procedure if you don't mind me asking. I just want to see if I am using too much or not.

Thanks

OK, sounds like I need to try the newest version, my v2.0 must be so different as to be irrelevant to this discussion...

The last 2 times I applied UPP (original I presume, because imy bottle is about a year old now) to my truck I ventured into unknown territory. I began with a dime sized dab on a 4 inch yellow foamie. Then hit that with 2 full spritzes of EO Wipe & Shine. Next I folded the foamie in half to distribute the juicy mixture all over the pad. It went on easily and most importantly very thin. Rather than let it sit the recommended hour, I wiped it off with a dry MF as soon as it hazed up. (a WO-WO variant). Final wipe was done with a DF MF towel. No problems with streaking or stickyness. Just a brilliant, super slick shine.

Works well in direct evening sun and temps about 85 degrees. All that seemed to do was cause it to haze a little faster.

I decided to try this method with UPP since it is an acrylic similar to the KLASSE twins. CMA recommends spreading AIO with EOWS, so I figure what-the-heck go for it. I'm very happy with the results and given the fact UPP doesn't need to seup for an hour or so before buffing off, saves boocoos of time as well.

I've only put UPP over SG or SG over UPP and both look fabulous (to my eye). It must to others as well, as I am constantly being "noticed" and receive comments on my truck - none negative so far.

I don't really measure the longevity as I apply either (SG or UPP) fairly frequently. With 3+ layers of SG on my paint plus at least 3 of UPP I'm sure I could stretch it out for 6 months+, even here in Houston with the brutal heat and humidity. I have found that UPP tends to loose some slickness on those occasions when I've let it go over a month.

Gonzo, you put SG over upp with no problems? Hmm, I thought SG would have problens bonding to anything other than AIO or another layer of SG.

I've always put SG over AIO, but after that I've used UPP, SG and SONUS in various combinations and layering without any problems. They all seems to be vairiations on the same acrylic theme and from what I've see in the forums can be used in any order without any ill effects. My last 2 layers have been UPP so I guess my next one will be SG, if for no other reason than to try SG over UPP x 2. I'll keey everyone posed.

He he, I guess I should try UPP over my current SG layers, and then SG again and then UPP....... :D

Puts a layer of SG over the UPP last night. Temps were about 90, but did it in some shade. Just got a tiny bit of streaking, but SONUS cleaned that up right away.
