Protecting Emergency Vehicles

I wish. Cheif doesn't make that desicion here. We have a finance board. The burocracy is astounding. Here's how the conversation would go.

Me: Cheif, i need some wax for the trucks

Cheif: Ask the finance board

Finance board: Bring it up at the next company meeting.

Me at the meeting: I need to buy wax for the trucks.

FB at the meeting: We already have wax

Me: yeah, but it's a jar of kit cleaner wax that's 20 years old

FB: Well, we're not a parade company.

Me: *staredown*

FB: Well....find possible cheaper alternatives and 3 bids. Come back at the next months meeting.

Me at next meeting: Here you go

FB: What's this?

Me: Bids for the new wax for the truck.

FB: We already have wax for the trucks

Me: *Blows head off*

So, yeah, there's a good chance i'll be stuck with the bill for a while, which is why i'm not eager to go out and buy $200 worth of stuff. The cheif controls a grounds budget (gas for the lawnmower, janitorial supplies) so i'll squeeze what i can out of that. In the end i'll probably have some out of pocket expenses that i'll try to get reembursed for the next 6 months while answering questions like "Who asked you to do that?" while they comment how great the trucks look. :wall:

I might just buy the stuff and take a tax deduction for a charitable donation.

For wax I would think Collinite I.W. # 845. Its fast ,its good , its easy , and durable. If you want a sealant Bud Abraham has a sealant for about $20.00 a gallon. The name of his company is Detail Plus. If you only want to buy over the counter then, Mothers cleaner wax or Meguiars Color X.

I think i'm probably gonna go with the Chemical Guys Revive Glaze/Polish and Collinite Fleet Wax Paste via PC. Clear plastics such as lightbars and cabinet doors will get Plexus, all the vinyl, rubber & plastic will get 303.

Its an quality yet inexpensive solution that works with the tools i have available to me and at my comfort level. Should cover up or dull just about everything on these busses and leave a few months of protection.

Though, suggestions are still welcome.

What's everyone think of collinite metal wax for uncoated aluminum wheels and diamond plate? If it's good stuff i'll give it a shot since it would be easy just to order it with the other collinite products.
