Protect-All Quick & Easy Wash - from a noob

I use a mitt when washing with a hose. But with QEW I'm concerned about there being more dirt that will get stuck in the mitt. But a mitt would probably be faster than a cloth. Do you think a mitt is ok to use with QEW?

It should be fine. I use a chenille covered foam pad with Q&EW.

Is there more than one person that answers the phone? It was like he wanted to hang up the phone as soon as possible.

The guy I talked with was at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. He was enthusiastic about the product and offered up a lot of information. I would call back to see if you can talk with someone else.

I just bought a gallon from campingworld after reading this thread and a few others. Looks like number of users is beginning to grow exponentially!

I just read this on the Protect All website for Q&E:

Helpful Hint:

____ Mix appropriate amount of Quick & Easy Wash with water and put into a spray bottle. Ideal for small jobs such as washing and shining glass, mirrors, tile, windows, etc. Keep a spray bottle handy in the garage for quick touch-ups on your vehicles, windows

Sounds like a way to make our own homebrew QD without Carnauba in it. Too bad it just smells like water, no candy(EOW&S), coconut(OGSO) or peach smell(EFCP).;)

It doesn't give the slickness of a QD either. I'll stick to my Wizard's Mist & Shine that Dale DeSteno got me hooked on. That stuff rocks! Dale, next time please turn me onto a $3 QD, not a $13 one! :D

Sounds like we need a showdown: Mist & Shine or QuickShine- which one takes top honors:nixweiss

I've been wanting to try QuickShine for obvious reasons (comments here), but the Mist n Shine is good enough that I'm not putting much effort into finding something else!

Wizard's is available locally for me, but I have yet to find someplace in the Cincinnati area that carries QuickShine. I would advise against ordering from ClearKote's website. They have you put in your credit card info on a straight, unprotected http address (no SSL, etc.) Unless you want to pay for every 12 year old hacker in the nations pizza for a Friday night, I'd advise staying away from it. They do offer a mail in option, but the $8.00 shipping charge hurts. I really would like to try the product though!

Yup! Add me to that list. :D I just got the 16 oz size today and I look forward to trying it. :up I imagine my next wash will be with QEW, seeing as how I have to do it in the shade and temperatures are 10 above freezing (what's that in F?). My fingers felt like they were ready to fall off last time!

I got it for $11.50 locally - not bad at all at the current exchange rate. ;)

Anyone try this website, they take Paypal and have Quickshine

Well, I received my gallon of QuikShine. Carshowcruising accepts Pay Pal and shipped from ClearKote direct- there was not email reply from them but the order shipped pretty quick. It came with the spray bottle and the label "fill to here" on the gallon bottle. I mixed it with water and tried it out last night. The stuff is great! Slick, easy to buff and adds a nice shine!:up :up :xyxthumbs

How dirty can your car be? I am not saying caked in mud dirty, but a few rain showers and a weeks worth of driving dirty (not a dusty area). So the most car savvy and appearance concerned give a thumbs up.....I am going to have to give this a try.

So this stuff doesnt scratch the paint up? No pre-spraying the panel down before hand? Exactly how dirty can the vehicle be or is this for like an everyday wash type thing? Low dirt/dust?

People are going to get sick of hearing this, but do a search for it. :D Seriously, I seem to remember ScottWax posting a rather in-depth thread about how to use QEW some time ago... hopefully you'll be able to pull it out of the depths here.

Hey, Brian, where did you get QEW? I might want to try some out for the winter months for washing in the garage!

All done PMing now. I hope we like this stuff! :D

Honestly, issues of QEW's saftey should be moot by now. Many people other than Scottwax love this stuff, and he's used it as a pro for 9 years and you should see the cars he does! :bow
