Pros or Hobbyists?

Hobbyist of a couple years as well here. I have done a couple jobs where I have been paid but those were family. I just like seeing a clean car I guess but I am beginning to think some of my friends think I am crazy heh.

A hobbyist through and through. I've learned an incredible amount on this forum and I've grown to respect those that detail for a living.

I dont have my business license yet, so I guess that make me a professional amatuer.

It's a hobby for me. I've been doing it since 1968. Like qballjr13, I'm what you would call an "Obsessive Hobbyist".

Detailing has been my full time (well, due to the constant rain this year, more like part-time right now :( ) profession since 1994.

"Occasionally paid enthusiast" here. I take some paid jobs, but they're almost always guys from my car club, friends of friends, or friends of family. The money usually goes to beer, pizza, and more detailing supplies. :)

Sounds like a perfect fit for me also.

I have a regular job that pays the bills..I do detail jobs as I can get them, I've done about 17 jobs this summer. I keep buying more and more products, so I don't actually know if I've made any $$ doing it.:grinno:

Just a beginner hoobist. My Ram is the first new truck I have ever owned. I really want to keep it looking good. And after a long week of work and school (P/T MBA). Working on my truck and the wife's VW is very relaxing. I am learing a lot from here and other boards. I am amazed at how the professional products work vs some of the over the counter stuff.

+1:getdown

Pure hobby. Detailing helps me burn the calories that my former sport, competitive distance running used to burn up. I enjoy the shiny vehicles, attention to detail and looking at the beautiful work on Autopia. I think picking up new interests as you age is the difference between "declining years" and aging gracefully. :woot2:
