Properautocare - Slow and disappointing - anyone else?

Anyone else notice slowness in their shipping and overall response? I placed an order Monday 8am, it still hasn't shipped.

I'd email them, but the last time this happened (last month) they were less than helpful, and I was emailing with their GM.

I'm 100% in for Autogeek, they never fail.

Buh bye Properautocare, lost a consistent buyer.

You will both be better off without each other

I didnt catch the first line, you might want to grow a pair and actually say it.

I do not care for PAC all that much either, you pretty much have to love BFWD in order to have a valid opnion on that forum, what do you not like about them?

Thats simply not true. I have never used BF and have over a thousand post. Now as to if my opinions are valid or not, well thats another thread

I think it would be best to call them rather than ask advice here. I have ordered once and got next day shipping.

I did call them today. They held my order to wait for something on backorder. There wasn't any communication of that until I called them. If I knew that I'd pay to have the backorder item shipped on my dime when they got it.

This is always a problem. Some of the large stores (Amazon, etc.) have an option that you can select to ship all at once or as the items become available.

Never had what I would consider a problem with PAC or any other supplier for that matter. It does take about 2 days longer for a shipment from FL as opposed to NJ to MI. Of course I don't wait till I run out of something to order either.

I agree they're not so good with email responses... There are other vendors that respond to emails in seconds.. But I agree with accumulator...Everything can be solved with a polite phone call.. I put an order with them recently...and I'm located at the other side of the world and it just arrived today... I didnt order much just a bit under 100 bucks but they shipped it hours after I paypaled my money.. In my book that's second to none service so I could care less about untimely email responses... I'm sorry for your experience but I don't think they're in this for a rip-off.. Maybe they are having their issues but it should be nothing more than '****- happens' kind of things..They'll make it right for you!

I guess I need to lower my expectations

I wouldn't lower my expectations - however, I'd give them a fair shake to sort it all out. As has already been mentioned, you ought to give them a call. There's lots of reasons they may not have been responsive to an Email. Everyone is going to make mistakes - even the mighty AG. I've seen the threads to prove it - people getting their drawers in a wad because AG didn't Email them back, didn't include their opinions on the forum design, yadda-yadda. {Seen where you made the call.}

I'd suggest shopping around on some of the other sites. While I'm not a big-time order man, I have to order stuff sometimes when I need something for a job I'm working on. Not only have I found lower prices elsewhere, most every other place I've shopped ships for less. Price matching is nice and all, but it's a lot of work to go through only to have three or four bucks you save eaten back up by shipping costs. When it comes down to it, you gotta buy from whomever makes you happy. I've never had a bad experience from AG, and the resounding feedback I generally get from them on the forums is very positive with the few exceptions of folks who seem to have a grudge, agenda, etc against them.

I've had orders get held up because up something on back order from several vendors over the years. A simple call or email is all it takes. They have all split the order up and second shipment was sent out when the back ordered product came in. Obviously this cost them more money so why would they do it unless they are specifically asked to do so?

AG reminds me of Walmart.

I agree...excellent prices with a large share of the market and surprisingly good customer service. Just placed another order with AG Thursday night and received shipping confirmation Friday morning.

Back to the OP. PAC is located in Tampa and I have been to their store/warehouse several times. I also attended a class there. I've been to AG's new facility and taken a class there as well. I've always had excellent service at both AG and PAC. That being said, PAC is a much, much smaller operation with a much smaller staff. The 15% off sale coupled with free shipping could easily temporarily overwhelm them a bit. You just need to be patient, they will come through.

I think Shutter intended it to be a negative comment. I would consider CG more like Walmart where low price is king over everything else. CG's product line (rebottling of products intended for another market/customers) and web site tend to highlight that.

AG's model is based upon customer service and product selection not price.
