Proper drying with MF towels...

Just got a few new large drying MF's from neatitems.com... Never realized you're supposed to wet them, wring them, then dry with them... Is this the best way to use them?

Can they be used dry, or is this not advisable for some reason?

thanks

I use mine dry. Don't see the big deal with using them that way but I know some users are super-concerned about swirls so they may wet them.

It's something for you to experiment with. Try them damp and dry and see what you like.

I just tried both ways... First damp, then dry to blot over any drips or stubborn areas... worked pretty well i think, i see no streaking or anything...

First i sheeted the water off with a hose, the used the CWB on my windows, then the damp MF, then the dry MF...

Worked for me... :xyxthumbs

There ya go! :up

Always try an experiment first. Make several attempts. If you are having problems, come back and ask us here.

BTW, this goes for everything in detailing, not just drying.

Keep up the good work :)

On THU received my order of 5 white neatitem MF cloths. Washed them by hand prior to first use and then used them after they dried to remove the Sovereign wax which I used for the 1st time. Under 2 halogen lights did NOT notice any swirls or streaking. Recommend the white ones highly. Will use one of them for removing remaining water after drying with the Big Blue Towel from CMA which I also highly recommend. Both items? None better that I have I ever seen or used. Both beat all chamois, absorbers, 100% cotton, CWB, blowers, etc...

check out this thread.

The waffled Mf cloths are good for general drying/blotting. I like the method described in the thread above - and I use a big blue or beach towel for blotting, but a microfiber wipe for actual wiping. I think these are even more gentle than the waffled-weave big MF towels.

Greg,

You turned me onto this site when you posted a reply to my 'What causes all these clear coat scratches' on CFG's Porsche Board. Thanks for the recommendation.

Since coming on here 1-2 weeks ago I have bought and tried BBT, Neatitem MF, and Sovereign. Super products to say the least.

This fall I may try your Zaino recommendation for a Silver car for one who does not like to wax every month.

Your wash, bloth, MF dry is the best way to eliminate clear coat scratches.

Thanks again.
