Scott you said “He can call on me all he wants I don’t know what to say, I’m guilty as charged of being neurotic. I’m after you’re a** but besides that I think you are a outstanding guy.

What I am saying is that by using QEW, I am complying with the law without having to use a containment mat or water broom. If that guy drives by and sees me washing a car without a mat and reports me, he will be wasting his time.

Huh? I really am not sure what you are asking. QEW is a rinseless wash. Wash a section, dry it immediately. No suds and no toxins to mess up the storm sewers. Cleans cars very well, when used as directed, no marring, no swirls and it cleans wheels effectively.

Sorry Scott, I wasn't sure what the abbv. QEW meant. Just unfamiliar with that particular product. I should've deleted the post after I looked up the product. I was thinking it was a quick detailer and not a waterless wash. Thanks for the response at any rate. What do you do for espcially dirty vehicles? PW off with plain water then use the QEW? You shouldn't have to reclaim plain water.

I can see significant advantages utilizing the QEW process on a pro level.

Environment

No Spacial Restraints

No Water Spots

Doing one section at a time.

Carry less water or do 3 times more vehicles for the same amount water used previously.

I will have to try this process myself.

Thanks

My city (in Canada) has a run-off/storm sewer bylaw similar to the national law State-side. I was ready to give up the whole idea of detailing vehicles professionally and mobily until I discovered QEW. I came up with some crazy ideas before I discovered this product. I had even written my alderman asking him to repeal the bylaw or to allow biodegradable soaps to run off in to the storm sewers. After some further research I discovered that biodegradable soaps are just as hazardous to fish life -- they just biodegrade faster. The phenols in the soap mimic the fish's estrogen and it prevents reproduction. Once I realized this, I started looking at being environmentally friendly as a healthy challenge instead of a prohibitive problem.

If the fenderwells are muddy, I'll pre-brush with straight water to remove the mud, then use QEW as usual. Every once in a great while, I do have to use a hose to pre-rinse.
