Professional mobile guys...need some help...

I'm moving to FL in a week and a half and have decided to take on mobile detailing FT. I have most of the equipment and will order a business stock of supplies to start out when I get down there. I'm working on making professional fliers and will have business cards made when I get down there. As well as setting up my business with the local chamber of commerce and getting garage keepers insurance. I also need to find out about water reclaimation laws.

Couple questions..

1. Do you enjoy your job?

2. How many hours would you say you work per week?

3. Do you do your tax work or use an accountant?

4. Do you work out of a truck, van, car? Use a trailer?

5. How long did it take you to become well known in your area?

6. What are some good forms of advertising?

7. Is $50k a year a low, mid, or high income from this position?

Feel free to contribute anything else you think I might want/need to know for starting out.

thanks for reading.

Give it time bro. Alot of these guys on this forum are what they call "Weekend Warriors". That basically means that they only do detailing to thier own cars and do not work as a detailer. Its simply a hobby for them and myself. There are some detailers that own thier own company or work for someone else though. Give it a couple days and I am sure they will respond.

What area of florida are you moving to? I'm inbetween tamp and orlando.

I'll try to answer your questions the best i can..

!. I enjoy it.

2. Normally 8ish to 5 or 6 in the afternoon 6 days a week. I have worked from dwan til dusk 7 days a week before.

3. I have an accountant. its just easier that way

4. I have a open 5x10 trailer.

5. To be known a few weeks. To be well known a few months. It all depends how hard you try to get your name out there.

6. small town weekly papers, flyers, passing business cards out to whoever you meet. And if your a big baller you can get a billboard

7. 50k is whatever you want to make it. You can make a few hundered a week or you can make 1500 a week. Its how hard you work that determines what you make.

Oh yes i'm from up north myself, rhode island to be exact. The wheather is a whole different story which i'm sure you know already. You'll be here for the last part of summer so you'll get an idea of what to expect. Good luck!

Be patient young grasshoppa.

I am, I drive 65mph on the Garden State Parkway daily...that take's almost all my patience...lol. Thanks for the response.

I will be moving into Orlando for now. Looking for a house once we get down there. I lived in FL when I was younger, so I understand the crazy weather. Do you use a water tank? What about water reclaimation? If you reclaim what system do you use?

Thanks
