Products that excelled and surprised you concerning their effectiveness.

I love:

303 Aerospace Protectant. It goes on really well, doesn't smell horrible and isn't greasy. I love that it isn't super shiny either.

I really like Griots Spray Wax too. It smells great. It applies easy and is a great added shine.

The Griots 6" DA has been way better than I ever thought it would be. It's light, powerful and easy to use.

I have also been impressed with Griots Spray on car wash. I just ordered some ONR. If that works as well as the Griots stuff I'll be much happier because it is cheaper.

BTW, thanks to everyone on Autopia for mentioning these products. It's definitley taken my detailing to the next level. Special thanks goes out to Accumulator for letting me know that Griots stuff is actually pretty good. I just bought Leatherique stuff and can't wait to see how well it works. I purchased this stuff based solely on the write ups by Todd Cooperider.

My experience with various products is more limited than most on this forum, but I have to say that Ultima Paint Guard Plus has exceeded my expectations. It is the only sealant I use on my wife's glacier blue Honda CR-V. Why does it delight me? Not because I think it produces the best look on that vehicle. Don't get me wrong. I think it looks great dressed in UPGP, but I can't say that it produces the best look on it because I haven't tried anything else since we bought it a year ago. I'm not even tempted to try anything else. I can seal the entire CR-V (paint, metal and plastic trim, cladding) in less than 15 minutes. I wipe it on and I don't have to worry about buffing anything off. I've never had it streak on me. Two coats of the stuff got the car through the winter (November through March), and as far as I could tell, it was still protecting. I'm not interested in spending a lot of time detailing the CR-V. UPGP makes caring for it so much easier than it would be otherwise. Maybe Opti-Seal would do a comparable job, but given that I haven't tried it, I cannot comment. All I know is that UPGP works for me, and I'm delighted with it.

Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Spray Wax.

Was blown away by the insane beading....high and tight and very round. I have been using it only on the roof of my truck (a little test) and the beading is very different than the other horizontal surfaces. Also looks nice, easy to use, and I like the funky sprayer. The smell could be better, but it is tolerable.

Funny you mentioned that. I bought TW Ice Spray Wax on a lark several weeks ago. The first time I used it, It streaked like crary on my old beater Sonoma truck. I placed a call to TW, and told them my problems (I also bought inexpensive MF cloths at the same time as the Spray Wax). We attributed the problem to the poor quality MF cloths. I switched MF cloths and tried again on the truck and my newer Rav4. I have been impressed with the durabililty, beading, and slickness after using this product. This is easy to use, non staining, and can be used on windows.

Another product I like is, Croftgate USA's Quick and Slick. I bought a sample and have been surprised at how little product is needed for protection. After the product set up, the paint takes on a nice glow and durability has been excellent. My wife's CR-V is the test bed for this product.

1. ONR- I don't think I have to add to what other members have mentioned here.

2. CG Leather Cleaner- This product really surprised me ... It really cleans leather and it doesn't leave any residue.

3. Opt. Poliseal- It's my favorite AIO ... this is the ideal product for customers that want their vehicle to look "nice" without any type of correction.

4. Collinite 845- great looks and durability at an amazing price. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that is a PITA to remove from anything that touches (mfs, applicators, etc.)

5. Meg's WB- strong stuff at an amazing price.

6. Folex- my go-to product to clean fabrics.

7. Bissell LG- great machine at an affordable price.

8. Aquartz Iron Cut- the easiest way to get rid of rail dust.

Rain-X Quick Wax. Surprises me everytime considering it's normally $4 to $5.00 when you can find it.

I scored two 23oz. bottles at Big Lots for $2.00 each, and I agree it's good stuff. It looks as good or better than any other spray wax I have used, and I have used many. Not very easy to use because it is too thick for a spray wax. I think it's kinda funny that the label does not mention gloss, shine, etc. and refers only to the protection offered. Works well as a wax-as-you-dry type product and smells good too.
