for me poorboys trim restore did live up to its name...its about the worst trim dressing ive ever used on my cars :bawling:

I had the same feelings. This stuff is TERRIBLE...it doesnt remove wax, nor does it even remotely shine trim (this is on my BMW and Mini)

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of steamers. I spent $1200 on a steamer and hardly ever use it because it doesn't do as good as my hot water extractor on capets and on seats, etc. I can get cleaner with a good brush and cleaner.

This is good to read. I was about to buy a 1200 dollar steamer to clean my carpets in my own cars and the hard surfaces in my home. (I have a cheapo now).

I even tried doing my sofa for my wife with the steamer...my wife was pretty dissapointed.

Tough crowd...I never thought I'd hear anybody say Menzerna or PB TR didn't work for them...these are some of the best products I've ever tried, and experimenting with different products is basically an obsession of mine (not to mention my profession).

I've detailed a lot of Minis and TR is what I've always used. I don't actually think of it as a true "restorer," rather it is just a really good and easy to use dressing. On details, I usually clean the trim first with a Magic Eraser pad which usually makes a HUGE difference.

To me a good chunk of the Meguiars line isn't that great where the Hype runs high.... Plus in Canada it's all overpriced and i can buy poorboys and everything else online for cheaper.

They want 25.99 and up Canadian for NXT, not even worth half of that.... Shine is OK, durability isn't bad, depth also not bad.

Why buy NXT when Nanowax, TW Platinum or Ice for alot cheaper, have near equal shine and durability???? Platinum is the best OTC wax i think anyone can buy. Just because it's says Turtle wax on it doesn't mean it sucks. It rocks the house :grinno:

The whole NXT line though is ho hum really..... Overpriced and barely a match for others for the dollar.

If the prices were lower i'd change my tune but as far as Canada goes megauirs and alot of it's products is not worth a look.

Basically every canadian should basically order online and get better stuff then what megauirs can offer you.

In the end the NXT line is over hyped... Go check out turtle wax if you want a great OTC product line or poorboys,klasse,etc... for online

I have to politely disagree, it has always been excellent for me as a dressing. It's like suntan lotion for trim. :)

Tomee,

Especially on windows, an underlaying product can cause problems with a new product, so I am not sure that it is the Megs stuff. Try to double check the incompatibility issue just to be sure...

nothing on the windows before..

used to celan them with water and MF

I think I might try this next time to remove the slgiht sealant residue thats been stuck on the moulding for awhile now.

Are you talking about a Mr. Clean magic eraser? Or just an ordinary pencil eraser (which I had also heard works pretty well)

IMO, Turtle Wax ICE is the clear winner for most disappointing car care product of the year. It doesn't shine as good as NXT Tech Wax, and from previous reports, it doesn't survive 2-3 washes.

I dont understand why Turtle Wax won't buckle down and come out with a polish that looks good and will actually last. They must have the know-how to do it, but they seem to be more interested in coming out with these dam gimmick products that just don't work. I don't get it.
