My 5¢

Dust or no Dust I will take the awesome deep & wet gloss of Caranauba over the "no depth" Zaino look. I thing Zaino is great for the wheels where shine is more important.

ShowroomLincoln and DK, thanks for the helpful responses, I appreciate all of the helpful people on this board:).

ALL: Are there others that use KLASSE only on their vehicle without a topper wax? Results? What QD would you recommend for use on top of SG only? I know for layering to not use carnauba QD with SG until you're happy with the number of layers you have. But what to use to make it look good if you don't use wax?

Thanks again,

puterbum

I've been using the Pinnacle Paste Glaz on my car since I finished my coats of SG. I haven't noticed that it attracts much dirt. In fact, when it is dusty I have found that if I drive fast enough it all gets blown off. :) I wish I had a dark car so I could try out the Souvern wax. I'm going to get a can because I have several clients with dark cars that have expressed interest in trying it out.

Prefer the wetter look of carnauba? I have 3 coats of Z-5 on my car and it literally looks like my car is covered with perfectly still, shiny black water..not to mention the superior reflectivity and super-slickness. It's NOT just a matter of convenience. Just wish I had a damn digital camera.

Zaino tends to have different characteristics on different colors. for example, my Steel grey metallic bimmer is not as reflective as blacks and reds. It has a deep, WET look, almost as if the car was coated in glass. On black, it is more of a reflective shine, under a coat of glass, and tends to look "liquid at times." As for depth, well I am still waiting for someone to post a picture of DEPTH for comparison. Pictures are tough to judge though......that is for sure.

All these users are using Z1, Z5, and Z2 with Z6 in between. After a few coats the car will look incredible. Most of us prep the car well, remove swirls, clean, and clay. Then we start the zaino process and in some cases never have to strip and start over. Once a swirl free zainoed car is polished, additional swirls that develop tend to be in the polish layer and Z5 fills them a lot better. So when swirls develop we switch to z5 to fill them and get that perfect look back, and then switch to Z2 for higher gloss. On light colors however, I do prefer the look of Z5. If all goes right, I just give the car soem extra cleaning with a clay bar twice a year, and wash and QD weekly. I tend to layer on about 5 coats of Zaino and then sit back and enjoy the shine for a few months before adding more coats.....

Hope this helps........

well i have to say you all have converted me. last labor day i bought a new car and i thought to myself "is there anything i can do to "kick it up a notch"( to borrow a popular phrase) to make my cars look better. well i found this site and a couple others and took the plunge. i still had a a twinge of doubt that the relatively more expensive sealants, waxes, detailers, towels and brushes and most importantly...techniques would make a difference. living in the midwest (illinois) brings all the extreme challenges to car care. this past weekend driving to a track meet and then on to st. louis through the sleet, snow and rain, i think i had more water flying up on the windshield from the slick hood surface than from rain actually hitting the windshield ( damn that sealant and QD). yesterday i washed the car in 65 degree weather with ONR 2 bucket method and the car looked and felt as good as the day it rolled off the truck (probably better!). so just a big thanks to all the posters, moderators and the PAC store for your help. (oh yeah, sealant- menzerna FMJ, QD- either menzerna hi gloss shield or blackfire deep gloss spray, carnauba-p21s). It's worth it!
