Hey everyone,
Well JoshTPA had me over at his house today and we messed around with his vast product collection. I must say, Josh has a great collection of products and understands how to use them all. Thanks Josh for letting me mess with all your stuff!
Josh's 2006 Volvo S40:
Paint:
Quick ONR QD (car was already pretty clean)
P21S Paintwork Cleanser
Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze
Menzerna FMJ
JW Carnauba Jett
Glass:
Auto Glym Glass Polish
I forgot the name of his glass cleaner (can you chime in on this one josh)
Wheels and Tires:
Poorboys Bold and Bright
Poorboys Spray and Gloss
Clearkote Vanilla Moose (I think, Josh will chime in if I am wrong)
The Carnauba Jett by JW is AMAZING. Applies so easily, buffs off with no effort, smells so good and looks well..... :bounce.
The Menz FMJ is another GREAT product. Applies super easy and buffs off easier. Leaves a super slick finish, outstanding shine and good durability! I was very impressed with the Menzerna line of products today. I have never used Menzerna before and am officially sold on them.
I was blocking his car from backing into the sun to get some good shots, but you can clearly see the reflections from his shots in the garage. The car looked great when he was done!
My Car: 2004 Dodge Dakota SXT
This was the experiment car! I got to try so many new things on it thanks to Josh I finally get to see what I like the best.
Paint:
PB S&G (car was washed only a few days ago)
XMT 360 on PC with White LC pad speed 5
Different Panels:
JW AJT
P21S Paste Wax
Z-CS
Opti-Seal
Menz FMJ
Z2-Pro
Ok I got to use all of these today!! It was definitely awesome to be able to test all these different products. I might be able to take pictures tonight when this blazing hot sun goes down. its hard to get shine shots when the sun is beating down on the paint. I did manage a few good reflection shots.
The XMT 360 is a really really nice product. Used with XMT pad conditioner. First, the pad conditioner is amazing, cant believe Ive never used it. Made the pad moist and ready for the 360. I used a small amount of 360 and spread on speed 3, bumped it up to 5 and worked it into the paint. I did not move very slowly (~4 inches/second) and within 2 passes, the 360 dissapeared and left a clean and super slick surface. You can do your whole car in a 1/2 an hour with this stuff. Definitely a good buy!
Hood:
Passenger 1/3: Menz FMJ
Middle 1/3: Z2-Pro
Driver 1/3: JW AJT
Front quarter panels/Tailgate:
JW AJT
Drivers Side Door/Rear Panel:
Z2-Pro
Passenger Side Door/Rear Panel
Menz. FMJ
Roof:
Whole thing - -21S Paste wax
1/2 roof - Opti seal
1/2 roof - Z-CS
I know, its awesome to be able to test all these out! I LOVE JW AJT, its application, removal, gloss, smell... it was a pleasure to use this product. I think i will ordering some JW stuff soon!
I also loved the Z2-Pro. i have never used Zaino before and now I understand why everyone loves it so much. It smelled so good, applied nice and evenly, hazed like it was supposed to and came off with ease. oh, and the shine, WOW, super slick and reflective. Not as deep as AJT or FMJ but still very very nice. I believe if it were topped with a nuba it would look outstanding.
The FMJ was a pleasure to work with as i described above about Josh's car.
P21S was also a product ive never used. I really liked it, used very little product to do roof of the truck and the look was reflective and deep. I was definitely impressed. I topped it with 1/2 ZCS and 1/2 Opti Seal. I couldnt tell the difference yet as it was in direct sunlight. Hopefully i will have a verdict on that tonight.
I also fixed up the trim with S&G and Mothers Back to Black. I am a devout Back to Black user after today, my trim was SHOT, and this stuff brought it back to looking brand new. Used it on my trim, side view mirrors, and bumpers. All i can say is WOW.
Again, not too many pictures as i couldnt get much of a reflection shot with all that direct sun, hopefully i can take some tonight so you guys can see.
Heres the Z2-Pro, had a good angle to take some shots on this side of the truck:
I have probably missed something, we used soo many products i dont know if i remember them all! Josh, if i missed something, post it up, but i think i got the meat of it...
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Thanks again Josh for the hospitatlity and good time!
