Whats the best mitt to get? I hear all this about grout sponge at HD. How is that sponge better than a actual mitt you put on your hand? What about claybar? What about drying towel? Sorry for just questions that I probably could just search for, but I just want some opinions and answers in this thread.

You want a mitt that doesnt hold onto grit and dirt, one that easily releases it in your rinse bucket....i use and love sheepskins, search Schmitt..or the grout sponge at HD or w/e is big and porous. wash media is personal preference you just want something that releases the dirt and grit from itself so youre not rubbing crap into your paint as you wash. Claybar again is perference, 3m makes decent clay, Mothers clay kit avail OTC is pretty gentle and has everything you need with a QD and clay in the kit. I use Sonus green myself. Drying towel again is personal preference but again you want something that isnt going to marr your paint as you dry. Kmart and Sears have a kit for 9.99 from Viking brand that has a huge drying towel some MF apps and a mitt and 3 towels or so.. But read up use the search function but we are here to help regardless. Excel is a great place to get stuff cheap.

I thought pakshak had really good ones like a waffle weave? I guess its personal preference. What is wash media? So a grout sponge is really good and i should get a grit guard to do the 2 bucket wash method?

Yea sorry WW towels are really good too those are what I use too...sorry just got out of one of my finals. I wasnt sure if you were looking to order stuff or just pick it up locally but Excel has great quality and prices on literally everything, towels included. Ive never bought from pakshak but I would assume they are good quality too. And sorry when I say wash media I mean like a mitt or a sponge or whatever. But I think the idea behind the Sponges is they hold alot of suds(for washing lubrication) and if you happen to run over some dirt or w/e they sponge is porous enough that it will suck it in kinda instead of just keeping it between the sponge and the paint.

If it helps, my short list for the stuff you listed at least for my clientele work is:

Wash media - Sheepskin mitts from excel- though im gonna buy a grout sponge today

Waffle weave MFs and a couple XL drying towels from Viking brand

Clay -Sonus Ultrafine green and if that doesnt pick up contamination some mothers yellow leftover- I use 1:1 Meguiars Last touch as clay lube or just some leftover Megs QD(store brand)

And yea I think grit guards would be a good idea though i have been goofing around with leftover fan grills trying to make something similar
