Product choice dilema!

6cyl's_of_fury

its naturally curly......
I recieved my Pinnacle Souveran wax this week after purchasing some with the Autopia store discount ( cheers David :xyxthumbs ), still cost a packet to get it here to Australia, but I hope its worth the expense! ( Im sure it will be )

I am as keen as mustard to try it this weekend. Problem is, I am not sure what to use as a base for it? I will be going over some light swirls I have with my FP ( white pad + PC ), after that what should I use out of the following:

NXT

AIO / SG

AIO

Megs #7

GEPC

I want to achieve that "dipped in salad oil" look, so I am leaning towards the AIO/GEPC/#7. Any thoughts?? Pic of my car is attached....

I always like a sealant base underneath a carnauba for the Ultimate protection. I would do AIO/SG.

#7 and GEPC have very light cleaning abilities in them as well as fillers. AIO would strip them right off.

AIO/Souveran would be a nice combo, but not exactly a dedicated sealant underneath.

EX-P would give you that salad oil look also, especially on a darker car. Scottwax has some awesome salad oil pics of EX-P on a black car, so you might want to look into that.

Well, he doesn't *have* EX-P ;)

I'd probably go with #7/NXT/Souveran or AIO/SG/Souveran.

If time runs short, either #7/Souveran or AIO/Souveran would look good.

I would *not* use both AIO and #7, I consider them incompatible. And I wouldn't use both GEPC and AIO, either. Even though they're very different products, they're too similar *in effect* and one would "clean off"/undo many of the benefits of the other.

He he, I recently went for the over-kill and for the sake of using the product, used GEPC then AIO then SG. Yeah, that probably accomplished nothing to improve the appearance I would have gotten without the GEPC

Bill D- Actually, that's about the only way you *can* get a benefit from each product. The GEPC does have some (very) fine abrasives, so it wasn't a total waste (except that, heh heh, with your hard paint I don't think the GEPC did much abrading ;) ).

I am not all that phased with durability, so I am leaning towards the AIO / SG / Souveran at this stage. I have both my car and a mates car to do this weekend...should be fun!

Thanks for the replies :xyxthumbs

OK, the bug bit, I ended up getting SSR2.5 ( as I cant get DACP here in OZ ), Wolfgang sealant and PB EX-P as well ( 2 replies above bugged me! :lol ).

So would a layer of #7 then EX-P then Souveran be the recipe for shizzle??

I am not sure whether to thank ( for all the help and choices ) or curse ( for endless car care bills! ) Autopia at times, I have so many sealants and waxes ect! Thank goodness for friends cars to detail....

Once again cheers to all for your replies :xyxthumbs

If you don't get much rain I would go with a wax, from all of the products I have used, it seems like the waxes have a shine advantage over the sealents (of course they wont last nearly as long).
