Process Curing / Drying Times

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I recently did my black BMW and was in some what a hurry. I used my DeWalt orbital buffer. I did polish, swirl remover glaze and wax. The car came out great but you could see that maybe I did not allow enough time for each process to dry / cure between process's

I was wonder what amount of time do you wait if any between process's for drying /curing to let the polish, wax, glaze, selant to set up before removing it or applying the next coating.

Thanks

Lots of answers for lots of products.
Evidently something didn't look/work quite right for you to be asking this question. Maybe the problem was using too much product rather than the cure time.
The products I use definitely fall into the time variable pattern.
Meguiar's #9 = Work till almost dry, wipe off, no cure time
AIO = Apply, wipe off, no cure time, more can be applied immediately.
SEC = Apply, wipe off, no cure time, more can be applied immediately.
UPP = Apply, let cure 30 to 45 minutes, wipe off, wait 24 hours to apply more
S100 = Apply, wipe off, no cure time. I do wait 24 hours before applying more S100, but I really don't know if it is necessary.
Multiple coats/layers are mostly to be sure I didn't miss any areas the first time.

IMO, following the manufacturers instructions always seems like a good place to start. :)

No the car came out lookiong great the reason for asking the question. Is there amount of time that you should allow between allpications before you start the next process. Example you are detailing a car you've applied the polish and removed it, do you start the swril remover right away or wait for X amount of minutes before starting the next step?

Beemerboy,

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any true polishes, SMR, or glazes that require you to allow them to cure before moving to the next step. Usually, it's only some waxes/sealants that require cure time for another coat.

Pretty much the same thing that Charles said.
