problems with Z

Once you get the base coat on you can alternate between Z2 and Z5 depending on what you want. I usually use Z2, but once in awhile I'll throw on a coat of Z5. Some people use only Z2 and some use only Z5. It just depends on the car and what you like.

Z2 and Z5 are totally compatible and interchangeable, mix and match as you like. I think Z2 is a little shinier and Z5 is a little more of a filler, but they are so close it's not a big deal either way.

Vishall,

Keep at it buddy. Maybe when I get time I can show you in person this time, it will make a difference. I also feel that the surface prep on the Camry was not what it should have been. Clay does not clean the paint in the way you think it does. If you are looking for practice until your dad's E500 comes, I would go with the darkest color you have in the garage right now. That sounds like the green civic right? Try a wash, clay, some kind of cleaner, and then prep for Zaino and apply. Doing everything in one weekend might help in your case too.

I finally have time to wash the car this weekend, so you can see what Zaino looks like on Mercedes black (even though yours is Obsidian). I can even slap on another layer of Zaino in front of you after I wash...

cool, ill see what i can do, i am getting the car today! finally, but i have an PSAT test saturday, but ill see what i can do, are you gonna be home for the whole weekend

Ok, after seeing your silver car today, I really think it needs some kind of chemical cleaner. When you clayed, I don't think you made enough passes in certain areas OR those areas were very tough in the first place. In any case, find some Klasse AIO or equivalent (Meguiar's Body Scrub should be fine). Then I would reapply Zaino to the entire car. You will also need some tar remover to tackle the lower areas.

The Zaino was applied over an unclean surface and perhaps it was rejected to some extent. Much of your final results come from prep, Zaino is only meant for finishing.

i see, ill try to find some, thanks for helping me out

lol u still don't know what to do dude. I just Zainoed my silver car today and it looks amazing. I dont think your prep was all that great.... Let justin help you out.

i did everything right, but my trunk needs some work done to it, ill get some of that paint cleaner, but it is hard to see zaino go on my silver car

I think you should use the cleaner on the entire car if you are up for it (because they you have to reapply Zaino with ZFX all over again). Remember the tar on the lower halves? I could still feel embedded contaminants all over the surface. A re-clay might do it in some areas, I think you were scared off by the noise it was making, so you stopped.

It's up to you on whether or not it's worth it. The E500 will look great no matter what, so don't worry about. The Zaino should be easier to see, but just remember to work in the shade.

Oh, btw? I can have the applicator after all? I just thought of a great use for it. (the white terry one)
