Problems with MF?

HI,

I've just finished a detail of a clients 05 black 645

After a normal prep(wash, clay wash) and polish (PC w/Orange IP, green FP) the paint looked good and noticeable decrease in swirls. After applying FMJ by hand, the swirls came back.

Both the deeper swirls (could not remove with PC) and really thin swirls (micromarring?).

What is going on???

The latest BMW clear(04+) is very soft. Softest paint I have ever seen personally. You have to be very careful not to induce more swirls after final glazing/polishing I have found. And even then, they will sometimes be reinduced into the car. The good thing is, they should come out pretty easily since the paint is so soft. Most likely you had some dust or debris ont he car surface and it scuffed the paint? Please let us know what you determine.
