Problems with Autogeek

I don't know about any cult but I've placed 5 orders with them in the last 2 years and only once did they make a mistake. They sent me mothers aluminum polish instead of chrome polish. I emailed them and them that morning and they apoligized and sent the correct one overnight shipping.

:nixweiss I've always had great service from Autogeek but I'm sure like everyone else, they slip up from time to time. I'm sure they will do right by you if you give them the opportunity.

He said he emailed them and left a phone message. Neither were responded to nor acted upon. Why should he have to track down their reps to get a response?

They list ways to contact them on their webpage, he tried those methods, and they did not work. He attempted to resolve the problem privately but did not get satisfaction. Now he is attempting to get feedback regarding his problem in a public forum.

Would responses regarding the samples be any different if he had called to try to add a normally priced item to his order? What's the difference? He asked that his order be changed via two different methods and he was ignored.

Posting this thread is exposing his less-than-perfect transaction with Autogeek. I'm sure that you would prefer that people only post positive things about your favorite vendor, but this is the real world. Vendors screw up and people are unhappy. themightytimmah is attempting to find out if this is a recent trend.

FWIW, Autogeek says that "every effort" is made to ship "all orders" within 24 hours.

I ordered from Autogeek once and asked them to shipped internationally. I have no problem with that.

However, I have to agree with Perry that there are ways to communicate. But if there's no response, there's something wrong especially if 2nd and 3rd attempts cannot get through to them.

Ordering on a Friday and not getting a confirmation 2-3 days later is perfectly reasonable. Sometimes, people don't work on the weekends.

I have negative experiences with Autogeek too. I jumped on the Xmas Giveaway wagon. I wanted a good carnauba, because here is only one sold in Hungary. I didn't hunt all the products, because I don't need them REALLY, or just for the sake of being free. I was lucky to catch the Signature.

I was sooo happy! Then they asked me to agree with the shipping cost (US$ 30; so it was basically not free - I can buy two jars of Sonax Xtreme1 for less) and sent a link to confirm my order. I agreed, but the link was broken. After two days of trying, I sent them a mail (directly to Jason), reporting that the link does not work and to find another way to confirm.

Then, nothing. After almost a month, I got a mail, stating that my "order was deleted, because there was no response to the provided link." They added: "If you are still interested in the merchandise, please notify us..." Blah-blah.

I sent another mail explaining the whole situation, and included the previous mails I sent them, error messages, error codes I received. I told them I am still interested, shipping charges accepted, etc., etc.

Since then, nothing. That was my first ever overseas order.

No Autogeek for me, thank you.

Albeit my orders were small, I always received them within 3 days of ordering from Auto-Geek. I just ordered some DP wheel Gel and carpet cleaner, we'll see how this order goes. They are probably swamped with the sales they have right now. I do thank you for reminding me to jump on a BMW vendor I ordered some parts from. It'd been nine WEEKS and I still haven't received specified BMW parts. I just sent them a diplomatic azz chewing and demanded an explanation. Accountability is everything. In my business, this would have cost me future contract and customers.

Its not so much that I didnt get any free stuff (although we all love free stuff), but more that two methods of communication were ignored that bothers me. A simple "sorry, but we're out of free stuff" call, email or PM would have sufficed.

I wouldn't have brought this up if it were a one-time thing, but I have had problems with both customer service and shipping timing with them before. I made attempts to solve this quietly, but eventually I felt like doing something to inform other Autopians about the problem. White95Max, for example, has had the same problems.

In the end, it comes down to accountability. I'm not making up things to "trash" autogeek with. I'm just putting out what has happened to me, and my dissatisfaction with it. I dont consider it any different than rating a product that I've been unhappy with.

I understand that Autogeek has done well by some of you, but thats not a reason to turn this into a cult.

Tim, I can understand how you feel. Though I'm sure their service is very good generally (as many members seem to have only good experiences with them), it obviously wasn't in your case. I think it's completely reasonable for you to post your experience.

It's seems obvious that you weren't trying to trash them, only to share your experience. I've never bought anything from them, but I did once make inquiries concerning their international shipping (two e-mails, in fact), which were never answered. I was surprised by that and subsequently made a post that simply said I tried to contact them and got no response; what were others' experience? I think those who replied all said they had had only good experiences with them. (I believe it was Jason) responded to that post, and gave an excuse (which may have been true, of course) for them not being able to respond, but as I remember never said "I apologize for the inconvenience", or the like. I guess after 6 years spent in the service, where it's considered that "excuses are like ***holes, everyone's got one!", that kind of response doesn't make a good impression on me.

Anyway, thanks for the post about your experience.

There was a post made saying they were out of samples.

I wouldnt sweat a few small bottles of samples, and i wouldnt publicly trash a vendor either.

Tru dat. We have all been spoiled by ridiculously fast shipping from all the vendors. As soon as someone doesn't get their order within a few days they start whining. :sosad

I have ordered twice from Autogeek. My orders were shipped slow and slower. I'll shop somewhere else. :down

Update - I just got a PM from Autogeek apologizing for the situation, and saying that theyd "take care of it" if given my contact information. I'm not exactly sure what "take care of it" means, but hopefully its something free :) (subliminal message: souveran).

I'm not sure if they just got to my email, or its in reference to my post, but I do appreciate the "sorry buddy, we'll hook you up" message, rather than the "screw you, shop somewhere else" PM that the cynic in me expected.

I guess I am just kind of spoiled from the vendors that always seem to find a way to include something free in my shipments (Steve @ Poorboy's comes to mind).

There are many companies that act like the circus with free give-aways and there are many others that don't. The only problem I have with Autogeek is the shipping costs, other than that I have heard nothing from you that would justify your tantram. Freebies from Poorboys all the time would explain why so many people are in love with them. He sounds like he is good at marketing.

The reason for you complaint was two fold, "they didn't ship out for 2-3 days on a Sunday order, and you didn't get free samples."

Are you for real? My only other problem with Autogeek is that they gave into your terrorism. I'm going to make an Autogeek order out of pity now.

Glad it got "taken care of," as for everyone starting to get upset either on one side or the other of this issue, I think we're doing too much talking and not enough detailing. That is all.

I had been ordering stuff from Autogeek for almost a year. I have only encountered one problem(sent me 16oz instead of 32oz BnB). I email Jason and he took care of it.

Most of my order ship out the same day.

You said it, it was a Sunday order, and they didnt ship it till when? Wednesday? Thats not right. Are you for real? I can understand a company getting behind, but this is something different. Like i said, i never ordered from Autogeek, but when i do i would like at least the kindness of an email letting me know when my item will be shipped.

Thanks,

Sellncars

I don't know about others but I have good reason for wanting to know when an item has been shipped and getting a tracking number. I live on a busy street and things left at my door can disappear if I'm not around to receive them. If I know there is to be a delivery I make an effort to keep an eye out or make arrangements for pick up.

Not knowing when the package was shipped and no tracking info makes life more difficult. :(

I also took advantage with the 25% discount. I placed the order on Thursday 5/19 and received it today 5/24, and they also included an 8 oz sample of the new DP swirl remover. :xyxthumbs

I never had a problem with any order so I can't tell you about ther custormer service:woot: :woot:

I've lost track of the number of orders I've placed with AutoGeek. The only problem I've had was a leaking bottle of Spray and Gloss (bottle was cracked). I called customer service and had a new bottle shipped free of charge, now to me this is great customer service. No hassles, just a quick solution! I give them a :xyxthumbs
