Problems Uploading Pics!

I got some killer pics of a '37 Ford and I can't get them to upload! I keep getting this error!

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 5120 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/autopia.org/httpdocs/gallery/image-inc.php on line 84



WHy!

It says I have unlimited size and memory. Please help! I even downgraded the size of pic to 176kb 1280x960 from 474! :hairpull

I uploaded a bunch of pics last night but all were 750 x 506 (which fit the page in a thread nicely) and no more than around 90kb file size.
 
Keep in mind, it's purely based on file size. The size pic really doesn't matter, but the total size does. Scott's recommended size is a good size because it fits well in the threads, but make sure you are saving it at a quality level that fits within the file size limits. If your file is still too large after resizing, saving it at a lower quality setting will reduce the file size.
 
I t worked. I used Photoshop like always and lowered it to 750x563 and it worked. I have a widescreen notebook and it sets it to that.
