Pro detailer?

So what do you want to go these pro's that do basic corrections, washing, and waxing well?

I think I stated it pretty well...there are classifications. Obviously when I go out and go a one step, or a wash and wax to refine the finish after a full correction, I would still be considered a paint reconditioning pro. however, if I just did wash and wax jobs, I wouldnt market myself as a paint reconditioning pro

just my two cents.

like most of you have already mentioned, a pro is somebody who can take a neglected swirl infested car and turn it back to show room quality, if not better.....

Sorry David, was not aware I needed to post more before I put up pics of my work. I asure you Im not here advertising myself to get more work, I stay busy enough just by word of mouth :)

No worries. Feel free to use the forum as you see fit. I'd love to see your work. I also think the community can benefit from your opinions outside the Picture sections too.

No need to be sorry. AUTOPIA is owned by 3D. Not by DF. LOL!!!! If you do this for a living, you should post in the pro C&B. Glad we are not posting under a dictatorship.

I think your Hungarian/English word converter got lost in translation Thomas because I never claimed to be an owner of this site. Try adjusting the setting back to the 3rd grade position and try reading what I posted again:

Seeing that I've been a active member here since 8/04, I'd say that I must have had atleast a couple thousand posts before starting my 1st Click N Brag back in 2/07. I like to think of Autopia as a place to discuss detailing, not just a tool to market your business. OTOH YMMV.

In this case the active word is "Member" = A tagállamok......not Owner = Tulajdonos

The above is pretty basic english. BTW, what authority do you think you have to say stuff like that? You are just a member David. Just another member out of the many thousands.

I never claimed to be an owner of this site

Then try acting like one? Coming up with your own rules, you telling people it is ok to use this forum?

You sound more like someone who is need of control. Talk about 3rd grade! One should always leave the ego at the forum door.

Try it once.

Do you true Professionals (doing this for money, as your profession) want non-professionals, even those who are genuine experts, posting their work here or in the regular, nonprofessional Click & Brag?

IMO for some purposes, such as this particular matter, we need to have some kind of clearcut distinction between "professional" and "nonprofessional" (even if the nonpro is still an expert).

[Insert usual banter about whether or not Accumulator is a Pro...the answer is "no" because he doesn't do it for money.]

Accum - if you are an expert, you post in the pro section. (like yourself) If you are an AUTOPIAN type of pro, you post in the pro section. I think it is a very simple matter. The pictures almost always speak for the work. m2c

Heh heh, I guess it just seems more complicated to me because I'm overthinking the subject (per usual, perhaps). And maybe I just hesitate to call myself a "pro" lest somebody say I'm a wannabe (even if I can outperform their "professional" self any day of the week in certain fields ;) ).

Plus, I simply have a lot of respect for people who do certain things day-in day-out to support themselves...whole 'nother ballgame to yours truly.

The pictures almost always speak for the work. m2c

In some cases yeah, but in others, well.. I'm always just a little bit, uhm....cynical about pictures on the internet. I have enough trouble evaluating paint in person!

Eh, never mind me, I should've probably just kept my nose out of this thread since I never post pics anyhow :o

Turning back the pages a good few years was certantly some different grades of work.

I always detail the car then take some photos unless i had something special in the way of things to show.

There were posts by the likes of Scottwax who did explain a lot what "detailing was" and how various products worked, not just what products were used. Also, a lot of posts with photos in often lead to discussions, relevant which since the creation of Pro before and afters i dont think we have.

If you want to come on here and say im "King detailer" of "such place" it doesnt seem right to discuss the work in away which might be critical but constructive. Simply b/c someone, if there doing the job rightly or wrongly is getting pay check off that work.

IMO, i think prehapes thats where this forum has gone slighly off the edge against the likes Detailing World as one example. Autopia was the leading forum, there was a lot to be learnt, it was where new products were first, new techniques were.

But mostly, lead often by "pros" who were enthusiastic about detailing and enthusiasts who were detailing addicts kept a strong back bone on detailing basics.

Prehapes even the terms "before and after pics" are relevant as the middle has really gone. gone to other forums?

But right now i would assume if you can detail well and get paid you can throw your photos in to the Pro Details? If your weekend warrior then pop your stuff up in Click Brag.

Accumulator: I replied to your last PM so many times over the last month and it wouldent send for various reasons so i just gave up in end.:wall

I find this funny coming from the King of Marketing 101.

Maybe it'll work OK now. I can't even remember what we were talking about any more! Sheesh...getting old I guess :o

Professionalism is an attitude.. not necessarily a paycheck.

I detail as a paying hobby (it pays for flight lessons, vacations and mods for my Mustang) when I am not working my career job as a firefighter or working per diem at the Fire Academy and at an ambulance service. In my community, there are three "pro" detail shops with a fourth opening in the near future.

I have done corrections on cars detailed by the "pros" in my community.
