Priming pads

distrbd

all in the details
Why some polishes don't require the pads you use it on to be primed but a lot of other polishes do?
and why does it have to be distilled water, can regular water do the job?
Some even use a QD to prime pads with.
So please take me through the process how do you prime a pad,how much is too much, how often do you prime a single pad?
Thanks .

It depends on what the product instructions say.
If they suggest a damp pad, I use a spray bottle of tap water to dampen the pad before I start. During the process of polishing, I give the pad another spray after a panel or two. It is not a scientific process. It's just when I think I should spritz the pad again. :)

A couple of things I should mention.
1. I have been told that a damp pad will increase the cutting action of the product. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of.
2. Not all products play well with water. If the manufacturer's instructions don't recommend the use of a water dampened pad, I don't use one.
