Prime Day a Bust?

Have you guys seen anything exciting? Or worth getting?

Maybe I had high hopes but it seems like just more of the same random stuff I don't want or need.

I saw they had a great deal on Meg's MT300 but it was 100% claimed in no time. Makes me wonder how many they had to start with!

It's a question of who it was a bust for. It was probably worth millions in advertising alone for Amazon. The fact that Wal-Mart, and even this site felt compelled to put things on sale to compete?

Nope, except for a fire tv stick. It's a bust. I really wanted a 4k sony tv but guess crutchfields getting it!

Side note, the Goal zero solar is also is a good deal. VERY VERY, handy piece of kit for emergencies.

I've been completely disappointed. Looks like an inventory reduction sale on items they rarely sell.

I held off my order to see if anything went on sale. Nothing. Oh well, still pays to use Prime for the cost of shipping alone.

I wasn't impressed at all. The price don't look like they've been marked down a lot. Keep in mind they always have % off normally anyway...

I don't think $183 is a great deal. I'd rather get it from Autopia Car Care where I can get a lot better customer service! :D

Trust me - ACC all the way! I used the MT300 as an example of the only thing remotely interesting and it was gone before most of us were awake.

I picked up a Coast HL7 Headlamp for just $27 ($40 at my local menards, and I have been wanting one since my partner started using one). Other than that, pretty disappointed.

Cancel it, get the Fenix Hp12. I got mine for 55 shipped. IT ANNIHILATES the competition in price, run time, lumens and durability. Use the code they give for 10$ off an free shipping. Autopia needs to carry Fenix! I also have there UC30 which is amazing.

That is very nice in terms of brightness... but it is twice the price, does not have a zoomable light pattern (which is very handy on my LED inspection light), and most importantly does not take standard AA or AAA batteries. All of those things are very important to me. I have a stockpile of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for my photography gear, so it is great to be able to use those as needed. No need to wait for the proprietary battery to recharge... just grab another set of AAAs and keep going.

Trust me, As a lighting guy. Once you go 18650, you'll never go back. No more spending wasted money on AA refills. I've had my 18650's for years, they are like tanks and last FAR longer. + You can NEVER achieve the lumens (brightness) out of an AA or AAA. It's just not physically possible in terms of output to size. Having a huge spread from 800+ lumens works far better. That said, zoomable is great.

If you like that fenix you need to get a zebralight h600 mkii flooded neutral white headlamp. It is 18650 and has a ton of brightness settings. I even went as far as buying rechargeable 18650's for it. It works great as a spot lamp.

I bought the coast headlamp from Menards last year. have found several decent uses for it. there are times that it comes in quite handy. with fresh batteries it is quite bright. like the dimming feature and its pretty comfortable to wear. don't use it a lot but its nice to have when you need it.
